Paterno author Joe Posnanski talks with Bob Costas on NBC Sports Network’s Costas Tonight on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 9pm ET. Posnanski had access to former Penn State football head coach Joe Paterno for months before the child sex abuse scandal broke. Costas Tonight will also feature Costas’ Nov. 14, 2011, interview with Jerry Sandusky which aired on NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams (excerpt below). 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge TV schedule

The first USA Pro Cycling Challenge was so successful last year, they’re going to do it again. More than 130 of the world’s top cyclists ride through the Colorado Rockies on a 683-mile, seven-stage race from Durango to Denver. This year’s race will be especially grueling for the riders, with five mountain passes topping at least 10,000 feet in altitude. Levi Leipheimer won the race last year. After paying $1.1 billion to license the U.S. broadcast rights to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London (plus another $200 million in production costs), it makes sense that NBC would want to continue milking the event for all that it’s worth, even though the “happy and glorious” Games officially came to a close yesterday.
