TV #TBT: Dylan McDermott sheds light on TNT’s “Dark Blue”

Hey, it’s another edition of our TV #TBT Throwback Thursday, featuring old stuff that we did that we think is worth another look! This week: Dylan McDermott in TNT’s Dark Blue from 2009. Dylan McDermott is back for another tour of duty with an elite LAPD unit in CBS’ new psychological crime thriller Stalker, premiering Oct. 1. The actor has made a nice career out of playing dark, brooding and slightly disturbed characters, and his new role as Detective Jack Larsen in Stalker reminded us of his role as Lt. Carter Shaw, head of an elite LAPD undercover unit, in […]

7 Questions With … Sean Bean of TNT’s Legends

I had a phone number and I was afraid to dial it. That’s how I felt before I interviewed Sean Bean. He’s well known for playing tough and intimidating characters like Ned Stark in Game of Thrones and Boromir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and even as the bad guys in Patriot Games and GoldenEye, he’s as much known for his intensity as he is for his often spectacular death scenes. So when it came time to call him on the phone to talk about his new TNT series, Legends, I’ll admit I was a wee bit nervous. […]

Sean Bean Stars In TNT’s Legends

In TNT’s thrilling new spy drama Legends, premiering Wednesday August 13, Martin Odum knows everything but the truth. He’s the FBI’s best Deep Cover Operations (DCO) agent, and has an uncanny ability to create separate and believable mannerisms, dialects and complex backstories, called legends, for each job. He can transform himself from a vengeful Southern anarchist, to a Serbian extremist, to a corrupt Chicago police officer, and actor Sean Bean, who plays Odum, is impressed by his character’s dedication. “Martin takes it very seriously, down to the details of what he eats, what he drinks, what he wears, women he […]

Recap of Rizzoli & Isles’ Goodbye to Lee Thompson Young

Rizzoli & Isles acknowledged the death of their colleague, Lee Thompson Young, on a credit roll in August of 2013, but it was in tonight’s episode, “Goodbye,” where they sadly addressed the death of the character he played — Detective Barry Frost and said goodbye to Lee Thompson Young. Lee, 29, was found dead in his North Hollywood home last August of an apparent suicide. Much of this episode captured real emotion on the part of the cast. The pictures they showed of Lee Thompson Young included ones of him as a little boy and candid shots of the cast having fun. […]

Eric Dane talks The Last Ship on TNT

If you were one of the zillion Grey’s Anatomy fans caught up in a collective swoon over Eric Dane’s “Dr. McSteamy”Mark Sloan, you may do a double take when you first see him as Navy Commanding Officer Tom Chandler in TNT’s pulse-pounding new action series The Last Ship. There’s no mistaking the heartthrob face and piercing blue eyes, but that signature seductive heat has been replaced with an austere cool that Dane attributes to the kind of real-life hero he’s representing. “This guy is not just the square-jawed Navy guy with the commander’s voice, barking orders; I wanted to bring […]

The first new series, Murder in the First, debuts following the Season 3 premiere of the hit Major Crimes on June 9. Like the show that leads into it, Murder in the First is a police drama; however, it stands apart in that it follows a single murder investigation over the course of an entire season. “The series is not a procedural,” star Kathleen Robertson, who plays San Francisco homicide detective Hildy […]
