Getting Lost: “Meet Kevin Johnson” Preview

Posted by Mike and johnnysweeptheleg

Just a quick note before we get on with the preview: This week’s episode of Lost is the last one until April 24, when ABC moves the show to its new time slot at 10pm ET. Hopefully “Meet Kevin Johnson” will give us something to think about over the five weeks between new episodes.

The teaser trailer following last week’s episode told us that someone will die this week. We’re on record as predicting Claire. Or Sawyer. Maybe someone else. We’re wishy-washy like that.

There are only so many characters left whose death would have an impact. The Oceanic 6 can be ruled out. We don’t believe the show could function without Locke or Ben. They wouldn’t dare kill off Bernard or Rose. (OK, they might … but why?) And we already know that Jin dies at some point. (Or at least we assume we know it.) That pretty much leaves Claire, Sawyer, Desmond, Michael, Juliet and the Freighties. (We guess there are others, but would you care if Rousseau, Alex or Karl got whacked?) Of those, Claire — as pleasant as she is to look at — seems to be the most dispensable. But what do we know?

Here are the unanswered questions — “only” 31 of them this time — heading into this week’s episode, “Meet Kevin Johnson”:

Who dies in “Meet Kevin Johnson”?

How and when does Jin die?

Should we trust Captain Gault?

Assuming Aaron doesn’t count, who is the last member of the Oceanic 6? (Confirmed members: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Sun)

Why is Michael working for Ben?

Where is Walt?

What happened to Annie?

Was that really Harper talking to Juliet, and if so, how is she communicating with Ben?

What’s in that Black Rock journal, and why does Charles Widmore want it so badly?

Why will Daniel need Desmond to be his “constant”?

Why is Kate raising Aaron off the island?

According to the Oceanic 6’s story, who is Aaron’s “father”?

Why doesn’t Jack want to see Aaron off the island?

Why does Miles ask Ben for $3.2 million in exchange for telling everyone that Ben is dead?

What time is it?

Why is Sayid working for Ben?

Who is RG and why are his/her initials engraved on Naomi’s bracelet?

Who was Mr. Avellino?

Who are the people on Ben’s list, and why?

Why can’t Locke find Jacob’s cabin?

Who is Matthew Abaddon?

In her flashback, Charlotte finds the Hydra symbol and the remains of a polar bear wearing a collar in Tunisia. Um, what’s up with that?

Why did Seth Norris pilot Oceanic 815 instead of Frank?

(This one comes courtesy of Abaddon) “Are they still alive?” (Oh yeah, and who are “they”?)

What else has the Oceanic 6 been lying about?

Once off the island, why does Jack need to go back?

When Kate meets Jack at the airport and tells him, “He’s going to be wondering where I am,” who is “he”?

Who was in the coffin during Jack’s flash-forward?

Who is Jacob?

Is Christian Shephard really dead or not? And was that him in Jacob’s cabin?

Is Mikhail (”Patchy”) finally dead for real?

Check back Friday morning for a review of this week’s episode.
