Lorelai Let’s Live Together Again: “Gilmore Girls” Comes To SOAPNet April 4

Wishing for  a multigenerational — right down to the teens — series about family, friendship and social class, but the hyper-fashionista, over-sexed, Gossip Girl know-it-alls are a bit much for your taste? Well, ya missed it.

But SOAPNet has welcome news.

The network has announced that it will air all seven seasons of the beloved, family-friendly, girlie-dramedy Gilmore Girls (which originally aired from 2000-2007) Saturdays beginning April 4 at 9pm, and Sundays at 6pm ET.

New to the WB series, which Time called one of top 100 series of all time? Gilmore Girls tells the tale of hip single mama Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham, now starring in “Guys & Dolls” on Broadway) whose difficult relationship with her wealthy upper class parents colors how she raises her daughter/best pal, Rory (Alexis Bledel) in the fictional Connecticut town of Stars Hollow, populated with a Northern Exposure-gone-eastern mix of everyday folks and lovable lunatics. The series was created by Roseanne producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and features uzi-paced dialogue and social commentary, plus rampant pop culture references.

It also amped up the small-screen heartthrob cred of One Tree Hill‘s Chad Michael Murray, Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki and Heroes‘ Milo Ventimiglia, and featured appearances by The Bangles, The Shins, Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach and Grant-Lee Phillips.
