Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I really have been thinking about my Grandmother who I feel has been with me in my life even though she passed on in 1981 My brother is having a baby and when we found out it was a girl I thought of her again and said Grandma I wsih you were here to my surprise my sister-in-law told me that they are naming her Julia Anne after my Grandmother I cried my eyes out and when they asked what was wrong I told them everything I have been thinking about seems that my Brother feels the same way. I just wanted to be able to talk to her and tell her how much I love her and that I was never able to say good by because I was 8 at the time she passed I think about her all the timje & I tell my kids about her. I just want to know is she happy & at Peace finally.
My daughter has 4 friends who have died in 3 years all suddenly and she took it very hard on top of her Great Grandmother she has been through alot & wanted to come with me to meet you. Please contact me I would love to come meet with you and have a reading with my daughter.

I watch your show and am in just awhhh of you. You are so sweet to let loved ones know that their loved ones who have already gone on are still with them and watching over them. My girl friends and our daughters are comIng to new yorkcity for a girl trip on April 19 th and I would love to make a appointment to meet with you or a phone call. Hi I love your show so much that I wish I could meet you or someone that has your same gift. I lost my daughter in 2000 and since then I have lots of what ifs I miss her so much I really want her to know that and I want to know if she’s with my grandfather who passed in 2005. I think of them alot and I feel them around. I want to know if there is something I can do for them and lastly I want to see if you could ask my baby if it was a dream or it was real that day of the kiss. Theresa, love your show!! My son passed away Jan 11 2008 at the age of 30 !! He was disabled so we did not have a so called normal situation due to lack of verbal communication !! I would really appreciate your help. Since my Fathers passing and eldest Brothers passing within 1 year of one another I have not found any peace with their transistion. Hi Theresa, I have questions regarding why when my father died in 1974 why he would leave my mother virtually penniless. She has struggled to stay a-float for the last 37 going on 38 years. He knew he was ill but made no effort to prepare financially for her care and the care of his three minor children. I have had so much heart-ache, loss, and trauma in my life and I feel he is the cause of it. I want to have him exorcised from my life. It is like he sulks around me making sure I have one bad thing after another happen to me and my mom. I have been taking care of her for over twenty years and now I am unable to work because of a severe neck break four years ago. Can you help me and my mom? Please.

At 66 I still harbor a ton on anger towards my Dad. I can’t seem to get past it. Does he have anything to say about this? This seems to be a handicap and threshold for me.
