Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I lost my aunt in a mysterious car accident July 2002. We could not locate her for three days. The police never found the cause for the crash. My family and I are still haunted by this and wonder every day if she may have caused her own demise.
We would love to hear from her and get her side of what happened so we could finally have closure.

hi my name is elizabeth gillyard my mother sandra lost her father when she was a little girl he was a police officer and he was transporting a prisoner and the helicopter crash everyone died. i would really hope if he is in peace and make my mother in peace to.also my grandmother died a few years ago .i reallly miss her lots she died a tragic death at the hospital.i was wondering if she was at peace.and that their ok. i live in jacksonville so if their is any way i can get help i woul love it:)

Hi Theresa, I just lost my dad, March 3,2012 from Acute Leukemia. He tried so hard to beat it, he did intensive chemo, but through a underline infection prevented him from winning the war on this awful cancer. Could you please tell him I Love him and I miss him with all my heart…Thankyou so very much.

I was wondering how my daughter and myself good schedule an appt with you. We lost my dad and he was very close to us. I was a single parent and my day came over all the time and was like a father to my daughter. I was very very close to my father. He was the only person I could confide in. I have had a few losses in the last few years. My beloved father in-law, my sweet sister, my father who I was just becoming close to, my grandmother and grandfaher, my mookie the sweetest little dog you would ever know and last my boy blacky a black cat who has been with my husband and I for 19 years. I am in a bad place. All these love ones left me in the last few years. I know everyone has a similar story and everyone is hurting and missing their love ones and there is only one of you but maybe just an e-mail from you may help. I just want to have that last talk…..with my dad. Because I lived in another state when he die….I didn’t get a chance to say good-bye. Please help me say-good bye once last time. And ask him how to deal with my mom….he was the only one that would try to grow intellectually but our mom was still her way or the highway….She is now 78yr old and I just to have a nice relationship with her.
