Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I will be turning sixty soon and would love to find closer and peace with past trauma’s and loss . I do believe people and situations present themselves to us when we are ready to shift. My father died suddenly. I have been through a lot he was fine one day then gone the next. He pass two weeks after my son ‘s heart surgery I remember that day I was so happy because my sons restriction were lifted never thinking my dad was dead. I was always daddy’s girl we lost our way for a few years but the last nine months of his life we were back on track. I live with a lot of regrets. I would love to sit down with you!

My name is Patricia and not sure why im writing this to you. I doubt you will ever see it. But something is pushing me to do it. I have seen commericals of your show but have never watched it tell tonight. I was flicking and I just stopped on the channel. I think what you do is amazing and I do believe your the real thing.
Ever since I was a little girl I have always felt like someone is watching me. I have had many weird things happen, and not sure what to make of them. Sometimes it really scares me. I have what I call day dreams, they seem so real. Sometimes when it happens its like im looking down on myself, it gets hard to breath and it feels like someone is squeezing me so tight. The hairs on my neck stick up. I guess it feels like a panick attack. It usual happens in the early mornings when Im alone. It almost feels like im in and out of sleep when it happens, but when its over im wide awake. feels like I have been awake the whole time. The feeling I get, its so hard to explain.
I am a twin and my brother or sister stopped developing in our mothers tummy. The doctor said i took over and they didnt have a chance. I have always felt like Im missing apart of me. I wish I could have met him or her. I wish I knew he or she was at peace.
Could this presents im feeling be from my twin, could it be because i technically killed them. Are they here because i cant find peace. When my mother had me she and I both died for a few minutes. could i have a connection to the spirit world? I have always believed in spirits. I believe my grandpa has come to me in a dreams.

I know that there is a wait and thousands of people before me but i have been sent to contact you. For the well being for my family my mood and patients are gone due to what happened 1 year ago. My grandmother’s passing tore my whole world apart. I was the one to call emergency service and she left me. She was my world. I have tried meds, sleep aids and counciling. My mood changed to the extreme and the only thing i have is my smoking and time to myself. I just need your help and i want my mind back.
