Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

First off, I believe in what you see and or feel! I had a very complicated life! Cannot commit to anyone, and have been with someone for almost 18 years and not real sure if I should stay with him! I know alot has to do with my childhood however I remember very little of it, which might explain why I’ve been sick (eating disorder) most of my life. I love the man i’m with (most days)but cannot connect with my own family. I think they make me even sicker! Please advise me if you can! Thank You!

we lost a brother 20 years ago, and i believe my mother would love to hear something from him again. It has been a lonely long 20 years without him in our lifes. Now we also have another in our family member who has been very ill however who is recovering but had flatlined 3 times and said she had seen our brother that told her to come back. which makes us that makes us that more curious.
I miss my sister so much and just want to know how she is. She passed away 4 yrs ago and it seems like yesterday. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I just miss her so so much.
Hi Theresa I love your show. My mom passed away when I was a year old. Didn’t get the chance to get to know her. Since I was 9 yrs old I started to obsessed about death till now. I’m really scare of death, I’m scare to be alone if I die..is my mom going to be there with me????????

hey i love your show i watch it any time i have my dad passed away when i was eleven and now im 12 i know that my dad is up there watching me and he is ok but i want to hear his voice one more time and i want him to tell me that he is there when i need him i cam to you beacuse i whould love it if yu chould come and help me get that from my dad that my only wish i want that before i die.

Hi, I know you hear this more then you can stand, but I lost my friend of 25 years sudenly 2 years ago st. patricks day. Her death was a murder and I wish to hear from her. She left behind 3 young kids and we are all heart broken. I think about her all the time, and how sad this all is. We are all trying hard to regain ourselves because the court date for her murderer is coming up. I realize that you get pulled in millions of directions everyday, and you have your own life and family. I just want to start off with I absolutely love your show. Its amazing every episode has me at tears. My grandmother passed a few years ago and I was very close with her and did not get to see her.
