Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hello, I was in an abusive relationship years ago. On January 7, 1997 relationship ended due to his suicide and me being a witness to it. I never understood why or why I was spared. It’s hard to move on since trust is not something I feel or believe in.

I lost my dad and mom in the past 10 years. My son Joey and Daughter Nicole now 25 and 23 were very close to them. My son saw an imprint of someone sitting on his bed and Nicole feels like my mom is her guardian angel. We would love to know if my mom and dad are with us because things have happened that are very strange. My daughter hit a telephone pole head on and it fell over her car with live wires sparking. there was nothing left of the car accept the seat she was sitting in. My son also flipped his car after sliding on ice into a ravine and the doors would not open. The car rested on a branch holding the car and stopped it from rolling down the hill. There are also things that I would love to know with my dad because I was very very close to him and I would love to know if he is around me. I just want to know also if he is at peace. I have a 17 year old daughter that was involved in a car accident yesterday, Thank GOD she is ok. There were several things that happened yesterday that I can’t explain. I want to know who was watching over her and what message was being sent to me from the other side(incident in my car that happened when I was alone) after I got her home.
I am the co-author of the post-911 book, “Women at Ground Zero: Stories of Courage and Compassion.” Many of the women featured in our book lost people on 9/11, and some of them suffer great guilt and regrets. And they don’t deserve this; they were heroes on 9/11, and they remain heroes today. They have given all in service to others. Hello I am trying to reach you to set up an appointment. My daughter and the gentleman I am seeing has a daughter as well that would like to come and see you for their sixtenth birthday. My daughter McKayla lost her father/ my husband on 2-16-2011 and Haleigh lost her mother/ his wife on the same day hours apart. We come from a very small community and they we both sick one with breast cancer and one with ALS. As the two families are getting closer the girls are seeking answers and closure. I know my daughter never got to say good morning that morning that he passed and she is hurting from that. Haleigh does not speak much but you can see it in her eyes she really misses her mom. The girls birthdays are in the fall of this year and are giving up a trip to Florida to come and try to see you.
