Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

you are so awesome i have gone to mediums and card readers tarot, and now i live in montana and am not around any and i would love to hear from my mon dad and sister they all died within 2 years of each other and i cant get thru the guilt of not being there for my mother, my sister just made it so hard to be around them,would love to see you and see if you get any messages from all my family.lonely in montana.i miss my family

Also my niece her daughter which is four now she tells me things she says my sister tells her but it makes no sense coming from a four year old. But the things she says no one but me knows about it. And something doesn’t let my sister get her message to me through my dreams. I turned on your show and instantly felt such compassion and realness about you. I’ve spoken to a medium about 9 mos. ago after my mom died and it helped me so much. True mediums are a blessing. Please don’t feel bad about not cooking….I have two kids also who have said the same things to me….I’m just not a cook! God Bless You!

I live in Pensacola Florida.I was liveing in Alabama my mom died.I was at work when she called me and i sceamed at her for calling me at work and i told her i would call her when i got home and i forgot to call and about 1 AM the hospital called and said that she was there and i said i would be there in about 30min. and by the time i got there she was died.I was so hurt so do you thank she forgave me.I wish i could see you to see if she did.God bless you .

dear theresa, both my husbands have died, one tragically and the other from heart trouble, but my biggest concern is the recent death of my sister’s husband. He was killed while walking 3 weeks ago. I have so many questions of why he didn’t get out of the way, why he left when my sister needed him so much. Please tell me how to contact you, I really need these answers.
