Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I lost my mother 1/11/11. On her death bed she told my sister, she didn’t care if she never saw me again. I bought her a new home in 2005. i was devoted to her.
I was the one who help her with everything. She did not tell me that she changed her beneficially to my youngest sister.. Why would she do this. Please help…. I need to know the truth.

Help me Theresa. Help me get the answers to my questions that keep me awake all night. PLease, before it destroys my family.
I know you are busy, my sister is terminally ill and will pass soon. I thought this would be a time of peace but she has nightmares that my mother is yelling at her and is frightend by her. She has previously had schzoprenic episodes but is prseently on no anti pshychotic drugs and is mildly mentally retarded she lived with my parents all her life and has not adjusted well to them being gone over ten yrs now.I dont know how to make peace for her so she is not frightened and having nightmares I want her to be buried with them but feel so unsure at this time what is the best thing to do to help my sister find peace in her own passing. I feel she will not pass peacefully if she cannot resolve the fearful feelings she is having about my mother yelling at her. she had to have her room changed after one episode refusing to go back in the room that she thought my mother was in bed and yelling at her. she pulled out her g tube but she looks so worried aand fearful somtimes when she thinks my mom is mad at her and doesnt love her. any advice to help her find peace.I am trying to accept her passing but it is causing me anxiety because im not sure if her passing will be peacful for her and worry about her.

I am a wife and mother of 3 teen-agers. I watch your program and enjoy it very much. I want you to know that when you say you experienced anxiety I also feel the same thing all the time. I also feel my bed shake when my husband does not. I can almost hear voices though not what they are saying and I sometimes get poked or feel my hair being stroked. I was told by a sensative that I am gifted but I am reluctant to believe it. I need some kind of answer so I can get peace of mind. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions so that I might get a full nights sleep. I feel like I have been kicked out of my own room.
