Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi Theresa. How do I get to get on a list to see you. My dear cousin has had a lot of heart ache with losing family members. Her only sister died accidentally by taking pain meds with sleeping pills and she had the flu, choked to death. She has always felt guilty for not checking on her soon enough to save her. Her faith in God has helped her through this. Two years later her dad passed from cancer. Now a week ago today she received a phone call that her 21 year old daughter was found dead by an abandoned house half under the porch. My cousin has bravely been taking care of her mother who is dying of cancer. I really would like to help her with getting some closure in her life. Please help

I lost my Mom in 1998 I know she is at peace. I had a dream with her and she said she was more alive now than she has ever been. She was dressed to the nines and had beautiful, extravagant things around her from around the world. I have also lost my father but I was 12 years old, I imagine he’s ok. So that is not why I’m writing.
I just wanted to tell you what a great person I believe you to be and to keep it up. Don’t loose your faith in why you are here. Actually, I was also wondering what your beliefs are in reincarnation. Well my dear have a great and blessed life.

My wife and I have been watchine your show and find it very interesting. We are very positive people and I wanted to tell my story. I never talk about my sister out loud but today I am. My sister past away March 1, 1980. She was 12 years old and she was my big sister. We were only one year apart in age and we did everything together. After 32 years its time to talk. I think everyone in my family had seen her spirit and I didn’t. Two days after she died my mother seen my sister walk into my bedroom and kneel beside my bed. My sister was in a car accident and broke her leg. She was in a body cast for a few months. When they remove the cast they found out that she had gangrene and had to remove her leg. After a year she then received news that she had cancer and I was not told that she had it. I new she was sick but never realized it since I was only 11. I still remember standing beside her frail little body in the hospital just before she died. I was holding her hand and for some reason I said I was going to get something to eat. When I got back up to her room she had died. I think I was in shock because I could’nt cry.
That day I lost my best friend.. Still today I wonder why this had happened to her, and why she hasn’t tried to contact me. I miss her everyday and I think I just need some closure.

I do believe that my baby brother is trying in ways to tell me something and I also believe that my Grammy she called me her 10th kid; anyway I feel that she is trying to get me to know what she needs me to do to get her children to stop fighting and hating each other since she passed. And the house i now live in; I found out that the male of the very first to live here(he and his wife built this home);He died in my bedroom and for some reason my cats do see him and i have taken pictures of many orbs coming out of closets and just lingering in my living room and this is why i know he is really here!!! When we had only been here for about 6 months I was a stay at home mom but now i am getting my BS in Criminal Justice (resons for me to say that is this reason) I was as i stated at home ALONE and I was in the middle of mopping; i had just finished my kitchen (my grammy was there with me because i only could smell her perfume in the kitchen) but any way; i went to my dinning room and the front den and mopped those rooms and continued to my foryer and I ended up seeing (out of the corner of my eye) a glimpse of what i thought was my spouse getting home and going in the direction of our bedroom so I had finished finally mopping and had went back to my kitchen area and there on my just mopped floor was a mans size 9 muddy shoe prints. They were coming off the carpet to the kitchen door that went out into garage. So i thought that what i saw was really my spouse being home. So i called to him and he did not answer. So i went to the bdrm and he in deed was not home. So I do believe that it was the man that passed here and he wanted me to know he was here but why muddy prints i had just mopped. LOL this was interesting to me and thought i would share this experience this was just one of the many i have had in my life which started when i turned 21. There are so many things that i could tell that are very weird incidents and i just wonder if in some way i have some type of psychy. Sounds stupid but if i could tell all you’d question that too.
