Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Our 51 year old “young” mother suddenly passed. My sister nor me got to say goodbye to her. We need answers as to the events that happened the day our mother passed! My sister had been in Kosovo for nearly one year & had not seen her but once in that length of time. My mother passed away in 2007. We never comunitated well. She never said ” I love you” to me and since her passing I have been in a deep state of depression and have felt lost and hopeless. I miss mom and wish I could have done things differently. I can only hope mom knows that now.

I lost my dad at a young age 11 months old and my mom was pregnant with my sister at the time 7 months pregnant…I have alwways felt that my dad has been with us girls and brought my daughter faith to me….my husband at the time and I could not have children and went through hell and back to get her…I felt like my dad brought her to me and I feel like he is around sometimes…I also feel like I am so lucky to have her in my life that I am not deserving … i feel like I will lose her…that terifies me to death…she is my world and since my husband and I split I feel like I need someone to just tell me things will be ok…please contact me if possible… throught email…

My son was just killed in a tragic hit & run acciden on Sept 25,2011.He was suppose to be married on Oct 1, 2011 and was only 23 years old. Needless to say I am devastated. Is it too soon to have a reading? I need to know he is ok. My heart is broken into. He called me at 2:15 am and the accident happend @ 2:22am. Please help if you can.

My name is Christi and my father passed away in January of 2007 of a heart attack. He had serious epilepsy and was in TX working at the time so we weren’t around for his passing. It was very hard on my immediate family and I (my mom and little brother) because we had just seen him on Thanksgiving and he was suppose to be coming back in the middle of January. My brother (27) has found it hard to cope with his death because the last words they had were over a horrible fight and some really hurtful things were said.
Since he passed my brother hasn’t been the same and has lived his life quite recklessly. My mother and I worry that we will lose him too if we don’t do something to calm his soul in some way. I honestly feel that your gift will help us accomplish that.

Hello. I hope you are having a great evening. I am sitting at my Lansing Michigan home right now watching your television program on TLC. I have to tell you I am a little skeptic. I think there are a lot of people out there that claim to be a “medium” that are quite possibly frauds or perhaps they just have not focused and fine tuned their skills and abilities as a medium. What ever the reason, I apologize for my skepticism. I am hesitant to do this but our family is in great need. My grandmother died when I was 4yrs old so I never really got to know her. Those who knew her have nothing but great things to say about her. Her name is Jeanne Sue Bates. She was very family oriented and if she were to see our family right now I know she would be extremely hurt with how our family is in shambles. To this day members of our family cry for her. My grandfather, her husband, doesnt have a relationship with his children anymore and I feel that if she were here that things would be different. I am not really sure what or why I am contacting you but thanks for listening.
