Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I am hoping you can help us . My two teen boys and myself have lost their father/my husband and all grand parents . We feel we are not alone in our house . Most of the time it’s comforting but sometimes disconcerting . I would feel better if you could reassure us that it is positive energy .

Today I saw Theresa on a TV commercial for a travel site. I am disappointed and saddened by this. Accepting money for endorsing products portraying the use of such a gift is wrong. This is exactly why skeptics have any creed.
I need to understand something that happened to me I don’t know if I was dreaming or awake but it sure felt like I was awake for in my find I felt ansious and couldn’t explain what was going on. This has happened to me twice already and it’s always has been in the morning. I am lying in my bed just before getting up to go to work and I have fisically felt a body lying down beside me and hugging me. I stay still but i’m a bit scared and can’t move. I want to move my head to the side but can’t. Its like my body is paralized but I’m fisically feeling this. This has happened to my mom as well and it’s like we both discribe this experience exactly the same. All we can say is after this spirit or body just floats away from us we are not scared anymore. Can you please help us understand what is happening to us??

I love your show and very much would like to meet you. I am wondering about certain facts: I have heard so many times from older people that they feel like they have met me before and that it is so strange to them that they have not ever met me prior to then. I have also encountered things in my home. We found out after moving into our new home that the mother of two children who use to live here passed away in a terrible car accident. I have seen and heard some things for example my bedroom door opens slightly at night I first noticed things as early as 2006 and sometimes I do get scared, If it is this poor mom I would like to help her find her way to heaven. My mom died in 2009 from colon cancer she was 58 years old. I also wonder if at times I may be feeling her presence. Could you please consider coming to Wausau, Wisconsin.
