Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi,my name is Jimmie I love seeing the things you do for people.my stepmother died back in 2001. She was a very special person, she had tons of friends. Everyone loved her. She was not afraid to died.she believed in spirits, and died at the young age of 50.she was the backbone of this famaliy. I’m now taking care of my father on hospice.it’s hard but he’s doin ok right now. I always thought that my stepmother would commumunicate with us some how after she past , but that has not happen as far as I know. Losing him was very hard. Then almost 2 years later i lost someone even more close his wife Helen, who waa my great-grandmother who i loved even more. My father passed away about 11 years ago. My sisters 3 and I were all very young and never really got to know him. We were wondering how we could get a reading done? Please, Please help!

My 36yr. old daughter died about 1 month ago.I am not doing well most of the time,but feel some peace today watching your back to back shows since I woke up this am. My husbands father passed away in 2003….they were very close they worked side by side for years so they were together every day…….he died suddenly…..he was at work….didnt feel good…..left…had a stroke driveing home…he called my husband with very slurred speech to tell him to come sit with his mom who had a massive stroke back in 2000 ambulance come to get him and he died on his way to montclair hospital in Birmingham ……my huhusband(Chris) has always wondered if hes ok and at peace…….my husband and I also take care of his mom who would like to know as well……is there any chance u could help him????
