Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Theresa, I love watching you on tv. I believe in mediums and life after death. I want to schedule a reading for my mother. My 44 year old sister just recently passed away unexpectedly in november from a pneumonia. My mother seems to blame herself for this. Since my sister has passed, my mom does not leave her bed. She basically gets up, showers & puts her pajama’s back on, and goes right back to bed. She sleeps with some of my sisters clothes. She cries all day and all night long. If you could kindly get in touch with me, so you can visit my mom who lies in BayShore, NY and give her the closure she needs. My sister was born with a genetic disorder, and was not suppose to live pass the age of 16. She lived to be 44. Theresa, Myself and my best friend want to set up an appointment to have a reading with you. You are truely a wonderful person. I have love ones that have passed and I have lost babies before they were born. My friend lost many loved ones and especially a broher lost at a young age. I hope it is possible to set up an appointment with you some time in the future.

Love your show. Would love know what my mother-in-law was trying to tell me when she passed away. She would call out my name and I would go to her and she would say she forgot what she was going to say. She did this several times before passing away

I am a single grandmother raising two grandaughters. I work everyday except the two days I have off. I work nights so I can take them to school. My son who is their uncle helps me raise them. I dont have money to pay you, but I would like to know why I feel like I take two steps forward and end up four steps back?
What do I need to do get ahead of things? I just feel like I am in such a dark hole.

On Sept 20th 2010 i lost my mother and till this day I feel that I have no closer and I wished I could have done more for her. A month after her passing I had a miscarriage. I totally lost it then and wanted to take my own life several times. I remember laying in bed the day I found out that I was pregnant and feeling that this was a blessing given to me because I was going to lose something and u remember saying “please lord don’t take my mom”. I desperately would love to have an appointment with you.
I have been hearing how good you are. I left a note before. I neglected to tell you My father passed about 3years ago. I am not only taking care of grandchildren but I help my mom. I feel like something or someone is keeping from have some kind of life of my own.

i am now a mother of 3 but i lost a baby a 15 which was April of 1999. Tragically in Dec. of 2000 the father of the baby killed himself. I then lost my dad in March of 2003. I was just in New York would have loved to have seen you. My mother was orphined when she was 4 and half and her sister. Her last name was Holder her mother died in 1975 tried to find out about any of her family. I have a lot of unfinished busness I feel like a plart of me is missing. My dad died in 2008 stepmother in 2007 then my step father2008 and my godmother oldest son in 2008. Everyone is gone I would really need to hear from my father and my grandmother on my mothers side to find the rest of my family. I’ve really sufford from everything that happened when my stepmother passed. I haven’t been able to settle my feelings It has really effected me terribly. I know you have so many people that need your help. I could only hope you would see mymessage.
