Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

There is an amazing lady who has been doing readings similar to the Long Island Medium for many years. Her name is Tara Night and she was one of the first Mediums with her own radio show years ago. For as long as I can remember I have had a connection to spirit. Not refined…clearly not an open channel…just a knowing of sorts. I have had increasing anxiety that is almost all comsuming that is putting my life on hold. I have a good life- wonderful child- my needs are met, but this anxiety keeps me locked up an is really putting a damper on my world. I was really paying attention when you mentioned that you had similar anxieties that kept you from the people and life that you wanted to live. I do not know what to do or how to clear this up for myself! I am a single mom who is desperate for a mentor of sorts. I want to be able to accept and clearly hear spirit when it needs to be aknowledged appropriately. But I would like to ask you about my son. Chris chose to end his life 10 days before his 39th birthday,April 20,2012. His wife and he were having big problems, she wanted a divorce. I think my son died of a broken heart. They had been together for 12 years, paid for their own beautiful wedding, 2 years prior,then dodo happened!! Even though my son called me and his brother,Jason, the day he died, we had no clue he was about to take his life just hours later. I am writing this email to be placed on your waiting list. My mom who has never been ill contracted a flesh eating bacteria last October 2011. My mom never knew what happened to her. After her initial surgery she placed in a chemical induced coma to give her body a chance to heal. My mom had multi-organ failure due to the toxins from the bacteria.
My family is just devasted. My parents have been married 50 years … actually my mom had planned a huge anniversary party but this happened 2 weeks before her party.

father in their home. A week later her mother passed.
My friend is feeling so helpless and thinking there
was more she could of done to save her son.He had been

I have been in so much grief for the last past 7 months.My late father has passed away due to some kind of rare and aggresive cancer. He left behind young children like myself im only 21, my brother is 18, which he blame himself for everything due to they was mad at each other, and a 6 year old who cries when she see other kids at school with their father. Myself i just never got a chance to express myself with my father and never got a chance to talk me. It eats me up everyday because i feel guilty. The reason why I am contacting you is because of my grandmother, you see she lost her dad when she was 19, and then she lost her younger brother , my grandfather killed himself because he had just got back from the Korean war, and from what I have been told about him, I guess he couldn’t take the fact that he killed so many people, some for no reason. She misses him greatly, as for my great uncle, he had gotten drunk and fell asleep on a boat that some how got a hole in it. I have never been to a group tour before and would like more info before buying tickets. When you have a large group of say 200 or more, how likely would I get a reading? Do you stay as long as it takes for every message to get through? If a person strongly didn’t believe in this type of thing, how likely are they to come through with a message for you? My husband and I both would love a reading but have watched many many shows where it looks like many people go home empty handed. Any suggestions?

My name is Patty and I had a dear friend and first love who passed 5 years ago of liver disease. I was not able to be around him due to his wife’s jealousy and not able to say my proper goodbyes and never able to get passed that. She would not allow me at the house to see mme as he was dying. I needed to say things to him and am sure he had things to say as well we were very close for many many years and did talk on phone a few years when he was dying when wife was not home. It was very hard on me when he passed away. But never did get closure. I still have a hard time till this day not being able to have siad my goodbyes to him due to his new wife.
