Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I have been watching your show for a few months now.
It so truly amazing the gift you have ,to cmunicate with spirits.
I lost my Mom suddenly 4-1/2 years ago . We were very close and I think of her daily.
I dream about her very often and some dreams seem very vivid. I would love to know more many questions . I have also lost my Grandparents ,my Mom’s parents with on the same year of loosing my Mom. I dream about my Grandma often too.. I lost my other Gramdmother a year ago and I miss her dearly. I hope one day I can speak with you and get some comfort in knowing my loved ones are near me.

I am curious to know if you would come visit our family…..my husband grew up with spirits, and actually saw a man dressed in cowboy attire standing over him one night….then we moved into our own home in Palmer Lake, CO and after about 6 months of living there, every night our son was woken up, his toys would go off, and basically we never got sleep. My husbands brother came and blessed the house, which from my husbands perspective felt like a demon was leaving the house…..my thought: it was a child that had passed but a bad spirit was trying to use the innocence of the child spirit to come through….low and behold a child had fallen through the front window and died….so a day late and a dollar short to read that house…but we are currently moving int a new house, and I can tell you right now, I don’t feel that I am truly spiritual, but I have become more aware, and as soon as I walk into this house, I feel the previous owner is there….and everytime I have gone to look a the house I have made an effort to say, “we are buying this house out of love, please let us show you how much we love this house”…..I just need validation and make sure that the spirit will not go after my children anymore…again….I can’t take it anymore. Hello Theresa,when I was 13 or 14 years old my grandmother died,I really didn’t get to know her very well as I was sent away to boarding school but before going I was able to spend some time with her,she was a good cook and we would go to the grocery store,I wasn’t allowed to go to her funeral which left me sad and feeling bitter at my parents for keeping me from going and having a goodbye and closer,I do remember before her death going to the hospital with my cousin Debby I remember trying to hug her and debby said not to hard,I often wonder if she is at peace and safe on the other side and if she knew that even though I was away at boarding school that I loved her,I was 8 when I was sent away and 13 or 14 when I returned,I feel I missed out on my mamie and I often feel sad and emotional about it,wishing I had-had more time with her,mamie was my favorite and when someone doesn’t have closer its so hard to know what they felt for you if she thought about me when I was away,did she love me.I hope that you will contact me Theresa ,I jst love yu and I know your the real deal.Sincerely,Kim

I would like to request to have a reading for my wife Gia. Her father passed (1) year after her mother was given a clean bill of health after surviving pancratic cancer. He had just retird after (30) years with the same company and spending over a year of taking care of my mother in law.They were so looking forward towards growing old together especially with her new lease on life.I drove them to the airport to celebrate their (50) wedding anniversary in Las Vegas. We received a call at home from the airline upon their return back that my father in law had passed on the plane taxing down the runway coming home.
My wife being the only daughter in an italian household was daddy’s little girl, and she is upset that her in mind her father has not come to her. She was the love of his life and he hers.

I believe you are a true medium. I think my husband who is a skeptic could bennifit from a reading. I believe you could help him truly. I have had some physic experiences and it started when I was 3 yrs old but got more intense when I turned 16. even tho I know things and say things without reason he still doesn’t believe.

My husband is a big skeptic but he started watching your show with me and likes it as much as I do. He asked me to contact you to see if you were ever in Texas if you could do a reading on us and I was thinking the same thing because he really needs to know that his mother is happy. She passed in 2000 and he has been unhappy and depressed about it ever since. I really think you could help.
