Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

My son has been gone physically for five years on 12/31/12. I am so heartbroken, guilty, and generally functioning as a shell. I work with teens and help them as much as I can, but the pressure is unbearable. I have so many questions. My life has been helping others, including metaphysical work for others, yet there is a missing link on the Earth when it comes to my own life.

When my father divorced from his 3rd wife, my step mother always still considered me her daughter, there was some distance, but as she went on with her life and extended her family, she still remembered me. In 2001 we were informed that my brother’s half brother was missing. He was soon found, but it was a tragic passing. His passing was not accepted very well by his parents, and they eventually divorced. My brothers have also had a very difficult time accepting their half brother’s death. My relationship with my stepmother has also dissipated. I have always wanted to give my stepmother an answer to her son’s death but have never made an attempt to contact anyone. If by chance you would take the time for us, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I am not only sad for my self, but it is my family that I am constantly worring about we are all so devisated and our family is really “F-Up-ed” and has become pretty disfunctianal over the last few years.I thought that greiving was supposed to get easier as time goes but for me it is getting worse with each passing year, day, hour.

Hi Theresa, im writing to you in hope’s that you can help me to find closure for me as well as my Grandmother. My Grandmother had lost her son (my Uncle) he was an Actor, Directer, Stunt pilot. James W Gavin. My Grandmother was very proud of him, he had passed away in 2005 from bone cancer. My uncles wife did not have a funeral, he was cremated, and my Grandmother did not even have the oppertunity to have his ashes.My Grandmother died four year’s later of a broken heart. I feel guilty for not being at her side when she passed away. I would like to know if she and my uncle are together and if they are o.k. and if my Grandmother forgives me for not being there when she passed ? thank you and I hope to hear from you !
