Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

First let me say HUGE fan your amazing!Me and my sister watch your show,we recently just lost our dad to cancer on 7-19-12 he was an amazing man everyday i live with regret we forced his wife to take him to the hospital because he was in so much pain she told us thats not where he wanted to be and said it was our fault we went against his wishes.I just want to know if he’s ok and if he could ever forgive us.And to let him know we LOVE him and miss him so much,i just think that there was so much more we could have done to save his life.

How do you know when your insight is real? I know things before they happen. it scares me. I have dreams. Then I walk into my dreams. But when I do, in real life, I am too late. Why is this happening? I want to change things that I cannot change. Why do I know things thru dreams, then it happens, and I cannot change it?

i do the same things!!! i dream things and they come true. i dream things and they happen. unfortunately, sometimes i dream people die and they do, but i never know when it will happen. i’ve been like this since i can remember – i know i saw my great grandmother after she died and i was around 5 or 6… i see ghost animals in houses and feel spirits of people around. sometimes i hear singing. is this normal?
Dear Theresa, I am writting to u with axtreme high hopes nad alot of prayer, that u will sontact me back . i lost my 14 yr old son to a very tragic supposed accident,which the medical examiner was not so convinced was assidental as the township police Depat. chief of police, Chitwood had put it. there was no real type of investigation ever completed. this child was the 3rd born of 4 children . his father, my husband was a workaholic for 24 yrs prior to our sons passing and has since beenn unable 2 leave our sons bed or even his bedroom and 2 of my other children chose to 3tend a college that they could live on capus, just so they could try to escape the pain of their surroundings that they knew no other way of coping w/their loss. which sadly left my youngest child @ home w/no sibblings and 2 parents that cant greive properly forour son, mostly b/c we have NO answers as to what happened to him n secondly b/c of the nature of the tradgedy. i wouldnt know where to begin to thank u, if u could find it in your heart to answer my prayers to respond to my message so we may find some answers n comfort in knowing our baby is @ peace n is ok. maybe then my husband may be able to gather the strenth he lost just to get out of bed everyday. he has lost a tremendous amount of weight n lletting himself wither away down to 99lbs, and I am left to deal with keeping my family from falling apart, which has not givin me the time or support that I need to greive for my sons passing. as the mother of this child, my heart breaks eveyday. all i need is some validation to know that my son is ok and @ peace and did in fact cross over when god called him home. this message is putting things very lightly , compared to what we actually think and feel everyday of our lives and so desperately need validation. could u plz find it in your heart to respond to this message so our family can find some peace in our hearts and minds so we can begin to rebuild our lives i beg of you.. thank you very much for tsking the time to read this and consider to help us w/ur god givin gift. signed desperate and hopefulll, Doreen Fish & Family. god bless you.

Second,i would love to set up a privite reading or a group reading..when i was 16 i had my first child..her name was victoria elena..she only lived for 3yrs,but the thing is,that when she was no longer to comunicate with us..i was not there and i never got to tell her bye..when i dicided to disconnect her from life support..i was confused i was 18 and just had my second child(which was 2 wks old) and i didnt want to see her suffering anymore..i felt very selfish,and i just want her to know that i love her so much..its been 5 yrs since she passed but every night it feels like that night that i held her in my arms while she took her last breath..im 24 now and it kills me not to know if she has forgivin me for not being there the night she went into comma…please get back at me…i live in palacios,Texas..it would truly be a gift to meet u nd talk to you..THANKS THERESA

I just wanted to know if you are able to communicate with a person who has had a traumatic brain injury and unable to speak? Could possibly still have his eyes opeb abd be in a comatose state. I have prayed that our dad is with him – and believe that he is.
Hi my daughter just lost her son about three weeks ago. He pass away on the football field he was only 14 years old. I wish she could talk to her so she can get some kind of closure. I know it is to early to stop griefing for him.
