Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

i always what to know really what happen to my command law husband of ten years. he passed when my son was only 15 months old. my son is now 24 yrs old serving the army & having his own baby soon. so many unanswer question what happen of this tragic death.

This was something that I cannot deal with. My son did not show any signs of taking his life. It was so unexpected. WHY? How can I go on without him in my life? He was my baby.

Hi Theresa, my boyfriend lost his oldest son last year, he had lived a hard life and was trying to get better and unexpectanly passed away from that, he had spent some time with us and had left town without saying goodbye to his dad, my boyfriend is having a very difficult time and needs to hear from his son, sometimes our dog acts very loving and jumps on him and lickes him like crazy and we always says its his son and would love to know if we are right.

Dear Theresa, my boyfriend of 10 tears lost his mother at the age 42. He was only 17 at the time. She unfortunately died right before Christmas which makes the holiday difficult for him. There is nothing more important to me than to have him re-connect with his mother. His pain from the loss is so incredibly deep that it effects many aspects of his life. Hello! I know the chances of me ever meeting you is slim to none, but its worth a shot! My story is almost 3 years ago my 3 month old son was butally beat & killed by his father. We have gone to court & shockingly his father was sentenced 13 years for involuntary manslaughter, this was due to having “no proof” besides what he said. Two weeks after he was sentenceed, the autopsy was found to be homicide as the reason of death, I never got to say goodbye & to this day I have no clue as to what happened. I need this for myself, for mu surviving 4 year old who was also abused, if you could email me that would be prayer in itself. Thank you & never take anything for granted!

Teresa hi…i have a very awful story. My best friend has lost her husband 4 years ago. If thats not enough recently has lost her boyfriend her baby 10 months old father. Both situations so sudden she has no answer for this and has lost love twice. My heart hurts for her. It would mean the world if you could give her peace. I believe you could help her. I am writing to you now because I would like to see if We can get a appointment with you. My story is my best friend is losing her daughter as I write, may not make it through the night. She is a little angel. She was born from a crack mother and my friend got her 5 years ago and has devoted her life to this child along with 12 other disabled children. Izzy has never been able to speak or communicate in any way but you can tell when her mother picks her up she is content and feels the love of a mothers arms. I really want to let her mother hear actual words of how Izzy has felt in the last 5 years and be able to tell her mother she loves her.
