Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

My father Ravil died suddenly from a heart attack. He was the closest soul to me. Since than my mother sister and i have been suffering from depression of loosing the one and only nucleus that kept us together. I have developed panic attacks and feel like i cant let go.

I am writing for my mother. My brother died suddenly in December 2011. He had a form of muscular Dystrophy and coroner said that his heart and lungs gave out (laymen’s terms)Dejeren sotas is technical term. She found him slump in his wheel chair when she came to bring him groceries. She has never believed in mediums until she started watching your show. I know she is still skeptical but she thinks you are the only one who can actually see or talk with spirits. I have tried to tell her when she dreams of him, it is him ,trying to communicate with her. He was only 47 when he passed and I feel her life has stopped as well. I wish she could know that he is ok and that he wants HER TO KEEP ON LIVING.

Hello Teresa. My name is Grace i live in Ocala Florida and me and my mom love your show. I hear you have a lot of people wanting readings but im hoping youll listen to my story. Since i was 13 ive grown up with two mothers and it wasnt the easiest childhood. Im 23 now and my mothers partner recently died and less then a month later my uncle dies. Dear Teresa, my mom made an appointment a couple years ago to get a reading on my father. He committed suicide when I was 15 and I’m now 20. I have absolutely not been able to move forward with my life and to be honest I feel like I’m gonna end up like him sometimes which scares the crap out of me. The last thing he said to me was basically telling me that he was going to leave this world and that I was his everything. My brother just got married and I would like to eventually, my relationship just hit one year. The hardest part of that night and my night to come is knowing he won’t be there to walk me down the isle. I’m hoping for a miracle, that I can have some closure so I can raise my children with all the good things I knew about my father.

Theresa what a wonderful gift you have..I have lost 2 family members in very traumatic circumstances. One left a letter behind that I never received Oddly enough my best friend also had a similar loss..It would be the greatest gift to connect with them one last time…to know they are still with us, and at peace…please allow is this closure..the peace of mind our loved ones are okay.
