Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

My mother loves your show ,in august she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. And last week she had a stroke. I would like to know if my dad who passed away in 1985 from cancer and my grandmother who passed away at 102yrs.old if they are watching over her. Because she is doing really good.

I’m not sure if Theresa will ever get this but its worth a try. I am just a girlfriend and a witness to a family who lost someone in a tragic and very sudden way. No one was able to say goodbye and everyone has lost their faith. She left behind two young infant babies. We don’t know how to have faith or hope. Its hard to be okay with God even needing her so young. Im not sure how her family will feel trying to contact you but the year of her death is coming up this December and I am kind of hoping for answers. I feel like she never left and like she has never been here at the same time. I feel like there is more to her death that no one will ever know except her and she cant tell us. I don’t see why it was her and not me. She left behind two babies. anyway I hope to find out answers, I feel like this was worth a try.

Theresa, It was 14yrs ago my nephew was almost 2yrs ago when he passed away well after a yr or two of the passing my sister and I was in my apt. we were dating two guys which were there i was in the kitchen cooking and her and her male friend was on the sofa watching t.v suddenly my sister and i experienced a crisp noise, a tingle in our body and we both ran out of the door at the same time with tears rolling down our eyes. Theresa, I am 67 yrs old. I would not ask you any favors, but for the past 3 yrs my husband/bestest friend has been fighting cancer, he is a Viet-Nam era U.S. Army Vet.
