Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I’m just wondering how my dad is doing on the other side …he’s deeply missed and his passing was such a shock to all of us. He passed in 1994 at the age of 45 of a heart attack? I wish I had the capabilities of reading spirit:) although I do feel there is times when he is showing us he’s looking over us, like leaving dimes in odd places….and by saying my name when no ones around…. Teresa I have lost my father in 1997 and my brother in 2003. Two weeks before my brother had pasted in his accident he had told me how much he had loved his sisters. But he had also told me that my husband at the time was going through something and I needed to help him through this. I had discovered a year later that my husband had been cheating on me for years!!!! He did alot of traveling so I decided to travel with him! Believed that my brother knew during our talk that he was going to God. He also had talked about how he didnt want to get old! So I did listen to him, I had at that time had been married 26 years! So I had worked with my husband at the time but 2007 I had really discovered the lie that my husband had been keeping. I left him from Tennessee where he was working at the time. When I got home he (my husband) kept calling me. So finally I asked him why are you calling and asking about how the house was when I got back home. So the next morning I kept thinking there is something that Im missing. He was a ham radio operater and had his own room with his radios. So I went into the room started looking through his desk and said to myself nothing here. Then I had two doves pecking on the window of the room. At that time I felt it was my Dad and Brother!! They kept pecking until I put my hand on a drawer of his desk. When I opened it I still couldnt see, but then I noticed that the paperwork in the drawer was slightly off center. So I removed the paperwork and seen a metal container that our kids have given their Dad for fathers day with billfold. I picked it up and opened and found $9000.00 cash in it. I still tried to work with him until 2009 when I said no more!!!! He had fought our divorce for a year but then I was able to make it happen!!!
