Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Scam—my sister & 7 others went to see Theresa on Thursday, 12/19/13 @ $90- each, they were told to a small group, well there was 3,000 people, it took them almost 12 hrs. back & forth, from NJ. Theresa only dealt w/people in the front on the auditorium. Disappointed, they all are. They all watched her every Sunday, which they will not do again. We will all network negativity. Disgraceful, phony.

Hi Theresa my weekly letter asking once again how can I get put on your appointment book? I know the wait is long thats ok YOU are worth the wait. I’m writing this in regards to my niece Amanda Ward-Romine has been missing since July 5, 2013. My other 2 nieces and nephew are frantically searching and worrying over her disappearance. Their mother passed away in October of this year. We fear the worse, but aren’t giving up hope. Amanda has had a drug and alcohol addiction in the past and is from an abusive marriage. Her husband has not been looking for her or does he contact any of us to see how we are doing. My brother (Amanda’s father) is an over the road truck driver and all he wants is his daughter to come home, either alive or if she has passed her body to bury. This is a great worry for the whole family. I watch your show every week and see how you put others’ mind at ease. I am hoping you can help this my family.

Theresa, things have been happening at my house I live in and the previous house. We rented the previous and the one now. I played with the ouija board when I was younger and my friend use to hold seances when we were young. These things are like computer starting up by itself, voices calling our names, baby mobile starting by itself, microwave starting by itself, figurine Angel turning by itself several times, light shutting off by itself, also I captured a demonic face in my closet with my tablet. door locking by itself,and coming home after locking door and the door wide open with both the door handle locked and dead bolt locked. I was telling a prior renter about the house on facebook and as I was telling her a picture fell off my wall in the kitchen. She said when she lived here she seen demonic faces pressed up against a bedroom window at night. Can you let me know what you think? Thanks!
