Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

hi teresa, my name is melissa patterson and my mother lois has been living 18 years of her life searching for clouser. her daughters remains were found by an orange farmer in southern california. the 4 previous moths lois exausted every measure to find her jenny passing out flyer, going door to door. the police could give her no answers. as of today jenny case is unsolved. i prayed asking God to guide me to resources to help lois. she would like to know who did this to her daughter. but what she really needs to know is that jenny is ok and is happy and wants her mother to be happy and her soul is still with her. i pray that my mom finds some sort of clouser everyday. this woman is just my dads girlfriend. not my biological mother. she is the mother i never had and im the daughter she thought she would never have again. jenny was her only child and now by the grace of God lois is now a grandma my children love her. we are the family she thought she would never have. if there is anything you could do to help her let me know. i would pay to fly her out whatever it takes im willing to do. what you are ale to give people is beautiful. thank you melissa

Theresa, My mother passed away a couple of years ago. Please ask her

It happened again about a week ago. I feel that she’s walking next to me sometimes and a couple weeks ago I felt she was trying to touch me standing very very close to my body like maybe she’s trying to hug me or something. Theresa, the wife and I were at the show in Tucson last Thursday night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also watch the show on TV and love it, which brings me to my next item. This is Sunday and we just watched the episode about Petey. I am right there with you guys, especially Larry, as I have been in his shoes. My last Rottweiler (7 years old) was diagnosed with Inflamed Bowel Syndrome, and even with treatment he could not hold on. The outcome in his situation was the same in fact. Larry, when we talked at the base of the stage in Tucson, I told you that we both think alike and that we share a lot of the same views and opinions but I did’nt think we had this much in common. My heart goes out to the both of you as well as your kids and Louie. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope things get better for you soon. By the way, I’m the guy who started talking to you about Harleys that night. Take care brother, and hope to see you guys again sometime. Sorry for the heat. Clarke.
i lost my dad joseph j karkoski on feb 20th 1995 i miss him so much every day i cry when i think of him i had two dreams about him after the funeral that nobody else had i need to know if my dad knows about mom living in a nursing facility and is on hospice care. right now she is still with us and can still communicate with us somewhat she is not bedridden but as time has gone on she has declined somewhat in the last 2 months. does he agree with the chioces that we have made for mom. it is just me and my brother.
I saw Teresa in Green Bay, WI. I was a little disappointed. It seemed like she only read the people who paid for the expensive tickets. What about the people further up in the seats? I know she cannot read everyone there, but it is not fair that the people who couldn’t afford the 200 dollar tickets not even get a chance to get read. It was a wonderful show but I left feeling like she was just concerned about the ones that spent the most on tickets. But I do love the peace and closure she gives people. Thank you, Teresa.
