Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I lost my dad in 1975 he takeing away from long tory short a lady stab him she never serve anytime I was five yeArs old then I’m 42 now and this have worried me so many years I can’t get him out my head I was a daddy girl I didn’t know as a child the pain but now I’m Depress and cry I just really want to talk to him because I miss him so much I write to him cry when I go to his grave in ny I have to I feel him and need to know what did he have to say I’m so lost without him please help fill this empty whole of a little lost girl looseing her hero dad!

I’m having difficulty understanding what God wants us to know about the spirits on earth. The Bible mentions these spirits are of Satan trying to fool us. When we die our spirits go right to God,(God willing)!. I’ve had many spirits come to me with smells and dreams. I know there are spirits here but I fight with the knowledge of what God really wants us to know. Have you ever thought of this? I would love to know your thoughts on this. Regards Kim

My dad passed away 23 years ago leaving my mom as a widow at 38 with 4 kids. Now my mom has late stage cancer. We have all struggled with my dad’s death but mom has never gotten over it. She has had her life on hold and now with her cancer becoming more aggressive,i am hoping it would help the family heal from the loss of dad, before anything happens to mom, if we could make a connection. As such I am asking for an appointment.

Hi Theresa. I was interested in gaining some insight into my future. Two of my biggest questions is to find out if I will ever have another significant love relationship because I am very lonely, and also to find out if you “see” my mother whom has already “passed”. Just watched your show. You are hilarious and I love your family too. A former Newyorker now here in California and miss NY so much. Mom and my sister Cathy passed in 1999 & 2000 and we miss them so very much especially Dad who’s almost 90 yrs young. Life hasn’t been the same. Who knows maybe they’ll come thru you while we’re watching you…GOOD LUCK!
My brother passed away due to a drowning in 2005. I would like to know was it an accident? Also, is my mom and dad okay also.

I was wondering if your gift can only be channeled through a face to face appointment or if you were able to exercise your gift through the phone.
