New York City Marathon TV coverage on ESPN2 Sunday

New York City Marathon TV coverage on ESPN2 Sunday, Nov. 4

[Update: The 2012 ING New York City Marathon has been canceled.]

Depending on your perspective, the 2012 ING New York City Marathon is either a victory for NYC or an inappropriate waste of resources in a time of crisis. While the five boroughs try to recover from Hurricane Sandy, many have questioned the prudence of running a major international athletic event in the midst of a disaster. Right or not, the marathon will still go on as planned on Sunday, Nov. 4.

ESPN2 airs live coverage of the race beginning at 9am ET. ABC will air a two-hour broadcast beginning at 4pm ET. Here is the press release from ESPN with additional broadcast and production details:

  1. If I get TV service back by Sunday I will not be watching the NY Marathon, I watch every year but this is ridiculous when they are still finding bodies in Staten Island. I am glad some runners are boycotting the event.
