What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

Man I am a sports fan but I am also a gear head… beside the weekend repeats on power block the speed channel was my daily treat ….now it gone. I’m sorry but someone made a mistake and this is coming from a die hard SD Charger fan….
This sucks – We watched SPEED for the people the programs and the racing – We don’t want to watch more football and Regis – Yuck!!! SPEED was for those of us who are not into other types of sports. Why does Soccer get it’s own channel yet we don’t. VERY POOR management Decision. Change the CEO or who ever made this change.
Another sports channel we wont be watching accept for Nascar. Really??? I called to find out what happened to speed and they said they combined with fox sports. In order to combine they would at least have to have some of speed programing on. But looking at the schedule and non of the programs, no just the same crap that is on a half dozen other channels.

Just what we needed, more football and soccer. Thanks a lot jack offs! My 8 year old and I loved watching pinks, pimp my ride and passtime. Let alone all the rest of the good shows.

This sucks. I watch the speed channel every day. For the car shows and the racing. Do they think everybody in this world wants to watch football or UFC fighting. They already had a channel for that. They could have left all of that to ESPN. Hopefully they will wise up and bring it back.

What a crock!! One of the few channels that I watched. They want me to watch UFC and boxing at primetime. Fox should fire the marketing guru who recommended this.
