What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

The one station dedicated to something other than ball and stick felon sports and you decide with your grand Corporate wisdom that this format was no longer necessary. Fox Sports sucks. Why do you need yet another boring sports channel ? Speed had a great lineup for the car guy. I guess next thing you will go after is Spike, with it’s limited car guy broadcast. So far we have Fox Sports Midwest , Fox sports 1 and Fox sports 2. You cannot tell me ESPN does not have the sports nation covered ??????????????? At least they broadcast NHRA !
What a major screw up taking speed channel off. I with millions of others want our motorsports/racing channel back. We don’t care to watch or hear about other sports such as football, baseball, basketball, etc… All the other shows on speed as well that we like to watch such as Gearz, Truck U, My Classic Car, etc… we want everything that was on speed channel back. Why in the world would anyone think that there needed to be another espn channel at the expense of motorsports is beyond dumbass!

bring speed channel back! If I want to watch stick & ball sports or fights, etc. there are plenty of channels that provide that programming. Fox 1 sports is not a motorsports channel!!!
What load of crap being thrown at us again ! where will we go for Barret Jackson and the other motor sports programs, Most of us auto enthusiasts are not into all the other Phony sports and players of our day. I fill ripped off!

I totally agree on the loss of speed.I don’t like fights and more of same type of programming already in place.I got the sports package for speed,now going to dump it.Bad decision fox!
One of the main reasons I got Direct TV was for the Speed Station. I don’t watch football or other sports but I really enjoyed Speed and it car programming, you can keep Nascar too!” Fox has made a mistake on this one and I think you will find most car guys and girls will agree.
As far as I’m concerned, Fox Sports One is Fox Sports NONE. Who needs yet another ESPN… Where is my motorsports channel. I hope FOX realizes what a mistake this is …..

and big mistake, already to many sport channels on tv give us a break if we want to watch murderers and dog killers, and drug dealers etc. we can watch Id, cops, and animal planet. we don’t need to watch them play sports.
