“What happened to Style network?” will be the question of the evening when Esquire Network officially takes over the the 15-year-old network on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9pm ET with the premiere of Esquire’s 80th. Still in question is whether new episodes of Giuliana & Bill, Jerseylicious, Big Rich Texas and Tia & Tamera will find a home on any of NBCU’s other networks. Some of the shows are expected to simply end their run, while a few will most likely be worked into schedules on E!, Bravo or Oxygen.
UPDATE: Style Network TV to relaunch in Fall 2014! See feature.
E! did confirm plans of airing the most recent seasons of Giuliana & Bill and Tia & Tamera starting in October. E! will begin re-airing Season 3 episodes of Tia & Tamera and already aired episodes of Giuliana & Bill’s sixth season on Tuesday nights starting Oct. 15 at 9pm ET, as well as new episodes of Giuliana & Bill next year. Season 3 of Tia & Tamera actually ended on Style Sunday, Sept. 22, and it’s unknown whether the series will see a fourth season. Oxygen will also be airing a 10-episode marathon of Season 3 of Tia & Tamera beginning Thursday, Sept. 26 at noon ET.
Syndicated series on Style, like Sex and the City, which originally ran on weekends, are interspersed heavily throughout the Esquire schedule, helping fill early morning, late-night and weekend time slots for the new net. Sex and the City, however, is littered all over the NBCU nets — you can catch it on E!, Oxygen and Bravo.
Clean House, which aired for nine seasons on Style, will also show up on Esquire — at least for the first week — filling the Wednesday, Sept. 25 morning block from 6am to 3pm ET.
At launch, Esquire had several original series including Knife Fight, Brew Dogs, Boundless and The Getaway. Similar to Style, Esquire will also help fill its programming schedule with blockbuster movies. The first few weeks, viewers of Esquire can expect titles like Ocean’s Thirteen, Casino Royale, Ghost Rider and Stripes, as well as popular series from Bravo like Million Dollar Listing, Chef Roble and Top Chef, and USA Network series like Psych and Burn Notice.
We will update you with further details on other former Style series as they are announced.
Absolutely ridiculous!!! Not enough male crap to watch now we need to change the one channel I enjoy to male oriented showing?!?! I will not be watching!!! I pay ALOT of money for cable & now this is one more channel I can’t watch!!!
Turned on the “style” channel the other day and poof! it was gone and replaced by something called “esquire”? Style was one place I could go to escape my crazy life. I am very upset that this channel is gone. I will boycott esquire as well as any advertisers that are supporting it.
omg this is such bullshit. This was my “go-to” channel and now it’s a damn Top Chef marathon?! allll freakin day? we do not need another cooking channel!
I am so not happy about the Style Network being taken off….there so many ignorant disgusting channels out there and the Style Network was the only channel that I could actually watch,I have enjoyed every single program on there the million dollar matchmaker Jersey delicious big rich Texas bill & Gand all the other shows….whoever made this decision sucks they shouldn’t let people knowwhat was going onI will not watch the new network I’m over it thanks a lot for nothin you guys suck…….
Is there a way we can help the Style Network to make a comeback? Maybe can change its location. We can all support that.
I like the Style network. But I am also exited by Esquire. I look at it as growth. I just got a glimpse of a few of the new shows Knife Fight, The Getaway, Boundless. All great shows. Loving the adrenaline rush! I do think the networks should be more considerate of its patrons. Give us a heads up about changes.
@Janice Jones – yes, I was exited by Esquire also. I exited right off that channel replaced Style. Style had many successful shows with loyal followings. You don’t just pull them off the air and just leave your loyal fans of those shows wondering what the heck happened! Is that a proper way to treat a loyal customer/viewer? Some of the shows were in mid-season. How do you just leave people hanging like that?
Just wait until advertisers finally figure out that women control 88 cents of every dollar spent in a household (obviously 100% in they are solo). What does a man who’s solo spend money on? Beer and a big screen tv? Women buy beer too and 57% of women would purchase a big screen tv over a diamond ring.
So I’ve “exited” and deleted 235 from my directv favorites. Bravo may be next if they don’t make some much needed changes.
I’m blocking their channel, informing TWC that I am blocking it and don’t want it, and sending Esquire an email that they are blocked in my home. The won’t respond to viewers unless we get drastic. I don’t need another man-fueled, tired, boring movie & old tv show channel.
Wtf!!!! Why did they do this?!?! I liked this channel! I don’t even recall seeing anything to inform the viewed of this change!!!
To push the NBCU executives to bring back the Style network we need to hit them where it hurts – their wallets. Boycott their advertisers! Tell them via email, tweets and on Facebook that as long as they advertise on the new Esquire channel you will no longer buy their products. NO ADVERTISING DOLLARS EQUALS NO ESQUIRE CHANNEL! See how fast those TV “bigwigs” bring back the Style channel then!
Was always a fan of the show.iwas really looking foward to this season.they rented a beach house from my brother on 3rd ave. In Asbury park.I wathed the Style channel often Bill n Julianna and big rich Texas, along with Jerseylishious.I hope anothernetwork picks up those shows.
I am so mad! I just purchased an extra package on my fios just to get the style channel! I wish they told me that it was replaced with boring Esquire! Where can I find jerseylicious now??
Style network was one of the few stations I watched. I am going to miss G &B,hot listing MIami, Tia & Tamera I hope some other stations will pick these shows up that would be great
Esquire sure sucks. I have been looking forward to new episodes of jersylicious and big rich texas. Only to find a new channel in place of Style?? this really sucks.
I cannot believe that they have done away with the Style network. Was so looking forward to watching JERSEYLICIOUS and HOT LISTINGS MIAMI and all the other shows. Hope these shows find a new home because I know a lot of people will be very disappointed. I agree with the other people who have left comments Esquire you suck. This is just not fair. Will not be watching Esquire and neither will my friends.
Just what we need, another channel for men…NOT! I’m angry because they were starting to show ads for the upcoming season.
This is unbelievable. I was looking for the style channel and it was gone. I googled it and found this article. So upset that all my shows are now ghost. Hot Listing Miami where will I get to watch you???? Or Jerseylicious??? Big Rich Texas? Or that new spinoff with Whitney and her mom from big Rich??? This absolutely sucks!!!! If anyone can tell me where I’ll be able to find these shows please drop me an email at madkukla@aol.com. Put subject ESQUIRESUCKS!!!!!
Thanks 🙁
I agree with others – to change with no notification is wrong. We pay for certain programs and expect to get what we pay for – nothing against hockey but I must have 20 hockey channels! Looks like I’m paying for a lot more than I am watching – may have to cancel,
They took a “chick channel” and turned it into crap. Sorry Esquire you suck and I will not be watching period. I’ve personally never seen this happen before I hope this is the last of it I will see. Coming real close to cancelling cable as it is….
I was so looking forward to jerseyliscious !
I thought I was losing my mind when last week it was style then
All of a sudden it was esq!
I thought it was my cable company.
I agree with other comments about them
Alienating viewers. Wonder if we can watch
These shows online?
Unbelievable, HOT LISTINGS MIAMI- where can u watch the latest episode— this is crap! Esquire u suck!!!
