Comedy Central extends “Key & Peele,” developing “Vandaveon and Mike” animated series

Good news for Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, as well as for fans of their hit show Key & Peele — Comedy Central has extended the previously announced fourth season order of the series to 22 episodes. This will bring Season 4 to a total of 20 original episodes, plus two “best of” episodes.

Along with this news, Comedy Central announced that it has given a development deal to Key and Peele to expand their Critiquer’s Corner “Vandaveon and Mike” characters into an animated series. The animated project in development is based on the Vandaveon and Mike characters set as 12-year-old hall monitors navigating their way through middle school.

“Keegan and Jordan keep generating such a limitless supply of funny, inventive sketches, I’m starting to think they are not only 1/2 black and 1/2 white, but also 3/4 alien,” said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming for Comedy Central, in a release.
