Labor Day 2014 TV programming

Labor Day 2014 is Monday, Sept. 1, a bit early this year. Leading up to, and through that day, over the weekend, TV will once again air a number of programming marathons, sports, movies and more to help you enjoy some of the time off you may have.

Here is some of the notable TV programming airing over the Labor Day 2014 weekend (all times Eastern):

Labor Live — Animal Planet.com. Throughout Labor Day weekend, Animal Planet’s Labor Live cam will capture live animal births as they happen from the Nebraska State Fair, including live deliveries of calves, chicks, lambs and piglets. The network will feature break-in birth alerts during its primetime premiere programming over the weekend.

Dirty Jobs marathon — Aug. 29 9am-5pm; Aug. 30 9am-6pm; Sept. 1 from 10am-4pm on Animal Planet.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 5 marathon — Aug. 29 at 6pm-Aug. 30 at 6am on BBC America.

The Simpsons Movie — Aug. 29 at 6pm on FXX. FXX’s 12-day marathon of every episode of The Simpsons continues through Sept. 1, and tonight it also airs the hilarious 2007 The Simpsons Movie.

Brain Games marathon Aug. 29 at 6:30pm-Aug. 30 at 3am on NGC.

World War II in Color marathon — Aug. 29 at 7pm-Aug. 30 at 3am on American Heroes Channel.

American Pickers marathon — Aug. 29 at 7pm-Aug. 30 at 4am on History.

American Masters: Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning — Aug. 29 at 9pm on PBS (check local listings). This new episode takes an intimate look at famed photographer Dorothea Lange.
