At the FX Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Charlie Day and I had an in-depth interview about subjects of the utmost importance.
1. Were you aware that canned wine is now apparently a thing?

Charlie Day: [Laughs] Really!? When I was in high school, there was this kid, and I bumped into him and he was one of the cool kids. And I didn’t smoke, but he was a smoker, and I noticed he was hiding a cigarette in his Coca-Cola can so he could walk around the school and smoke a cigarette. And I thought, “That guy is the coolest guy ever.” But I do not endorse smoking. And then I thought of that just for the canned wine episode. But I’m surprised it’s taking off.
2. Are you still seeing Green Man around?

Charlie Day: I’ve seen less Green Man. Green Man is calming down a bit. The phenomenon is wearing off, but maybe it’s still out there. I’ll have to put the Green Man suit on. I don’t think I’ve worn it since Season 5. Maybe I’ll have to write something for Season 11.
3. Have you heard anything about reprising your role as Benny in The LEGO Movie sequels?

Charlie Day: No one’s told me. I hope I get to, because I love doing it. But the phone has not rang yet. I know those guys [Phil Lord and Chris Miller] are busy and working. They’re super-secretive about everything they do now. They have not told me yet. I hope that I get to come back.
Do you own a model of Benny’s SPACESHIP?
Charlie Day: I own a Benny [minifigure], but I don’t have a spaceship. So I can keep my desire of wanting to build one alive.
