The Bachelor fantasy suite recap: Getting steamy in Bali

The Bachelor takes Bali, and the weather isn’t the only thing that gets a little steamy – effecting both the quality of hairstyles and the off-camera time as Bachelor Chris Soules hands out keys to the fantasy suite to his three final ladies (bow chicka wowow). It was an emotional episode for the farm boy, as he bid one of the women he was falling for goodbye.

Bachelor_KAITLYN-webKaitlyn:
Kicking off the Bali dates, Kaitlyn and Chris spend a day exploring a market place and village. Following suit of the entire season, the date was not complete without a weird spiritual component, and the duo visits some spiritual dude to preform yet another odd ritual. I don’t know what Chris does on that farm, but I have a feeling its pretty trippy if this is what he does with all his lady friends.

Additionally, this date marked the beginning of Chris’ obsession with the monkeys. I don’t know what it is about the men on this show, but they always seem to make weird connections with whatever monkeys they encounter. Has anyone else noticed that or is that just me?

Speaking of monkeys, Kaitlyn metaphorically became one of the little creatures, according to her, and compared the monkeys vying for a banana to her going after Chris — how primitive.

At dinner, Kaitlyn lets down her wall and reveals that she is falling in love and the pair takes things back to the fantasy suite.

Bachelor_WhitneyWhitney:
I’m going to be really blunt here, but holy crap is Whitney annoying. The girl never freakin’ stops talking. She is literally going to develop TMJ from moving her jaw so much. If I were Chris, Whitney the yapper would have been overboard in like 10 minutes.

Nevertheless, Chris and Whitney enjoy a nice (not so peaceful) date on a beautiful boat and take things back to dinner.

Whitney shares with Chris that she is totally ready to start a family and that she feels that “half of [her] is missing” without a husband and children. When Chris raises concerns about Whitney leaving her beloved job, Whitney offers to become a human puppy mill and start making babies because “that would be [her] career.” Being a career mother seems a little 1950-ish but you do you, Whitney. Give up your job you worked so hard for to be a career mother in the middle of nowhere. UGH, women these days.

Whitney and Chris take things back to the fantasy suite (surprise!), and after their night, Whitney “feels very confident that [she] is going to marry Chris.” Good luck.

Bachelor_Becca_webBecca:
Wow, who would have ever guessed that Becca and Chris would see a spiritual psychic? And, wow, how awkward was it when the psychic told Becca the virgin that the most important thing to do on the date that night was “making love”? The answer is, so awkward.

While Becca worries about her virginity becoming a problem in the fantasy suite, Chris worries about the fact that Becca has never been in love before. However, amidst the haze of worry hanging over the couple is the obvious bond they share.

Let’s be real, Becca is the obvious winner here. Chris even says later in the evening that he is certain that he is “falling in love with [her],” and Becca reciprocates those feelings in saying that she has “experienced new feelings” and “feels different than she ever has before.”

But, no matter how much love they feel, Becca still needs to address the fact that she is a virgin, and she waits until they are actually in the suite. Well played, Becca. The whole thing goes over smoothly, and Chris is rather shocked, but says he “respects her decision” and that it “says a lot about who [she is].”

The-Bachelor_fantasy-suite-recap-0223_BeccaThe rose ceremony:
Even though the date went perfectly with Becca, Chris wakes up the next morning feeling a little confused and even sheds some man tears (mears?). At the rose ceremony, Chris pulls Becca aside to reassure their bond, and he throws Becca right back into the mix, sending Kaitlyn home. TOTAL bummer. Well, not that Becca is staying, but that Kaitlyn is going home. I liked that girl.

Kaitlyn feels very “humiliated” and leaves in tears, perfectly setting herself up to be the next Bachelorette (hopefully).
