If you grew up watching Pokemon cartoons on Cartoon Network or enjoyed playing the computer or card games that were perhaps the best Japanese monster import since Godzilla, there’s a new Poke-phenomenon guaranteed to cater to your grown-up tastes. Now you can experience Pokemon at…the symphony!

The beloved midi-files of the 16-bit video game and the tunes from the CN show are getting a lift into elegant and dramatic scores played by the world’s finest symphonies. After performing the work to sold out audiences in Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh, the producers have turned Pokemon: Symphonic Evolutions into a tour that will travel to 30 cities across the U.S. and around the world.

How’ll they turn the “Guh-Guh-Guh-Guh” sound into music?

I’ve never heard of a “Video game concert,” but Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions promises fans all ages the chance to experience the evolution of the Pokémon franchise like never before. I’m really interested to see how they turn the video game sound of Krabby into music. If you’re a parent, what better way to introduce your young Pokemon trainer to the joys of the symphony that to let him or her experience it with exciting and beloved music? And even for Pokemon’s scores of adult fans, the performance is a unique opportunity to meet up with friends of all ages to catch, battle and trade Pokémon from your favorite games.

All-new orchestral arrangements and carefully timed visuals draw from recent and classic Pokémon video games, including:
Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, Pokémon Crystal, Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon Pearl, Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon Black, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
