CBS Battle Creek series finale: “Sympathy for the Devil”

CBS won’t be bringing Battle Creek back for a second season, so the series will wrap up with “Sympathy for the Devil,” airing Sunday, May 24, at 10pm ET/PT. In the finale, Milt (Josh Duhamel) survives a car bombing and enlists Russ (Dean Winters) to track down his would-be assassin, leading to startling revelations as to why Milt is the way he is and what brought him to Battle Creek. And if you really, really were into this show, then you have our sympathy.

  1. My family are SO sad that there is no Season 2 of
Battle Creek ! We LOVE this show!!!!!!!
    We never missed an episode!

The last best show to be cancelled like this was Firefly! ….. And that STILL has a devastated fan base!

Cancelling this show will cause MAYHEM !!!!! In our home, at least!!!!
    Thanks for a great show!

  2. My wife and I are very disappointed in CBS. We love this show. Shame on you CBS for not giving this show a chance. Whoever made this decision should be fired.

  3. Good golly, why cancel a fun show that was gaining speed and an audience? Great chemistry with the characters and it was nice going to bed on a Sunday night with a laugh instead of a shutter from blood and gore. I have rabbit ears for TV, I don’t get many choices. Don’t remove what’s working!

  4. Why take off a show that people lived to watch!

All those stupid shows that are on don’t need to be!

  5. Battle Creek was a favorite show. The acting was very believable; the characters had interesting, diverse backgrounds and the chemistry between them was perfect. I hope the “series finale” turns out to just be a “season finale” and we are treated to 13 more episodes of this fin show. Compliments to the writers, actor and TV staff.

  6. I can’t believe u cancelled a great show like Battle Creek yet u keep the stupid shows on…yeah, that makes a lot of sense…This show was funny, and kept u glued to the TV,I watched every episode, and there aren’t a lot of shows I can say that about…you made a mistake cancelling this one…..

  7. Big blunder, CBS. Battle Creek rapidly became a favorite of mine. What the show didn’t have: sexual perversion, politically correct dialogue and casting, over-the-top powers of persuasion for minority groups. What the show did have: talented actors growing into a special ensemble cast, a sense of humor, and writers that know their craft.

You have missed a chance to lead the pack with a detective series different from the rest. While I was not on the edge of my seat when watching, I was enjoying every minute relaxing with a smile on my face.

  8. I too am SO sad/mad that Battle Creek got cancelled! Grrrrr#!/#! I loved so many things about it and see alot of potential. Please reconsider!

  9. Please bring back Battlecreek! It’s such an enjoyable show and there’s so much charactet development that needs to be explored. Love it! Love it! Love it!

  10. I am very sad to find out you’ve canceled the show. My husband and I looked forward to it each week. It was well written and loved the humor. I hope you bring it back.

  11. I am very disappointed that Battle Creek is being canceled. It actually is one show during the week that I look forward to watching. I do not enjoy reality shows or trite comedy shows. This program is interesting, but also is humorous. And I really like the actors in the program. H0pefully some other station will pick up this program since I feel it really is worth watching.

  12. Battle Creek was so much better than most things on TV today. I’m baffled why it would be canceled. Fun to watch. Good acting. Interesting plots. I believe it’s a huge mistake. So tired of Reality shows and reruns. Ack!

  13. Shame on the executive who is so out of touch with great shows. Probably watching Big Brother or yet another lame ass show.

  14. I am so sorry that you canceled this show. Very few T.V. shows are well written and acted but this show had it all. Shame on you CBS.

  15. Message to CBS: I think its terrible not to bring back this show. We liked it; liked the characters, their interactions – everything! I never would have watched it to begin with if I’d known the network was going to do such a sucky thing! I’ll pay closer attention in the future, CBS! Shame on you!!!
