Nikki goes from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows on WWE Total Divas this week.
The Bella twin was on top of the world as the longest reigning Divas champion. Then her historic title run comes to an end as she passes the torch to Charlotte.
An MRI reveals issues with Nikki’s neck and spinal cord. The doctor suggests weeks, maybe months, of physical therapy to start with. He suggests she get taken off the European tour and off the road in general. She doesn’t want to be forgotten in the ranks of WWE and is motivated to return as quickly as she can.
Nikki can’t imagine life outside of wrestling.
She seeks the help of her boyfriend, John Cena. He is superman when it comes to recovering from injuries. But Coach Cena is tougher than she thought and takes her phone away while she trains. He keeps on her, and Nikki starts to wonder if he is being overbearing. One glass of wine at dinner is not cool. Cena thinks she is coming down with a case of the S.O.M.’s (Start On Mondays). Just another thing he can put on a shirt.
When they go back home from dinner with her mom who is in town, she gets mad when John tries to get her to work on her physical therapy. She didn’t think the timing was right. He gets mad and leaves the room.
Talk about an awkward evening for mama Bella, who believes John has every reason to feel the way he does. Nikki asked for him to be the rehab coach, and that’s what he did. Mom tells Nikki to go find John to smooth things over. She apologizes to John for the way she treated him. They come to the conclusion that he is better as her lover than rehab partner.
Elsewhere, Bobby intends to go to Vegas with his friends. Rosa doesn’t want to come off insecure, but feels the need to address how she feels about his decision. She brings up the fact that his ex-girlfriend lives in Vegas. He says the trip is for business. Rosa gets a bit jealous and isn’t pleased that he decides to go, despite how she feels.
Mandy invites Rosa to go to the beach with her and her brothers. Rosa stalks Bobby’s Instagram to see what he is up to in Sin City. She sees photos of him at a pool party. Rosa draws conclusions and calls him, but the call goes to voicemail. Rosa takes a revenge photo with Mandy and her bros.
Sure enough. Bobby sees the pic, calls her back after five hours and asks who the dudes were. He wonders what else is going on while he is gone. At dinner with Mandy and her brothers, Rosa reveals the source of why she can’t trust men. Her past includes abusive relationships with men who have cheated. It led to her problems with drinking, down the road. Bobby comes home with flowers. Rosa asks him about his trip. They start talking about why Rosa doesn’t trust him.
She thinks he is keeping something from her and doesn’t know why he didn’t want her to go. It turns out he was looking at engagement rings for her. Rosa breaks down crying. She is scared that everything is going too perfect and is worried. Bobby says at some point she has to let go of the past. Rosa feels she needs to stop comparing him to other experiences and focus on the future.
Natalya feels the need to get some family photos done at her house. The parents get a little insight from the “Queen of Harts” on how to take a selfie. It’s an art, after all, and Nattie could have a Ph.D in selfies.
The family tries on some wardrobe choices in preparation for the family portrait. This includes feather boas, mittens and lots of pink. The color is right, but it’s not exactly what Nattie has in mind.
The photographer comes over, and Nattie finds it harder to get family members in order than the cats. The photo shoot is a hot mess in her eyes. She feels nobody is taking it seriously and is mad when her sister breaks a glass from her wedding. But TJ gets Nattie to realize the family had fun being together and she needs to remember what’s most important.
