The following day, Bakula was back in Pride’s shoes, dispensing New Orleans-style justice and telling us all about it.
NCIS: New Orleans continues its sixth season on CBS with Tuesday’s new episode “Matthew 5:9” (10pm ET/PT) in which Special Agent Christopher Lasalle’s (Lucas Black) desperate hunt for the truth about his brother Cade (Clayne Crawford) comes to a critical point when evidence suggests a drug-trafficking ring may be involved.
Pride travels to Alabama to join Lasalle in searching for clues and assisting local law enforcement to track Cade’s last known whereabouts. Of course, Pride is going to do this investigation his own way.
The stakes are high as the team continues to pursue justice. Don't miss an emotional #NCISNOLA tomorrow night at 10/9c. pic.twitter.com/LZsTzZjHqr

“This guy wears his heart on his sleeve, anyway, so when you start messing around with his family or extended members of his family, he has trouble doing both things — taking care of his people and also doing his business,” Bakula says of Pride’s not-by-the-book mentality. “It’s a battle. It’s something he fights all the time.”
The case of Lasalle and his brother is deeply personal for Pride. “He has those kinds of parental emotions, and he and Lasalle have been together the longest,” Bakula says. “He’s nurtured him and been his mentor. He knows Lasalle’s story and knows the challenges he’s faced with his brother. Hopefully, the rest of Pride’s team can handle what’s going on in New Orleans so he can really devote himself to being there to help Lasalle in any way he can. It’s a powerful arc, and it’s explosive in many ways.”
It’s been a rough year for Pride, as well. He’s been suffering from nightmares, insomnia and hallucinations stemming from his traumatic experience being kidnapped and drugged last season. Bakula hints that these visions will put Pride on the path to some important realizations in coming episodes.
“He gets some information about some events that happened when he was a very young person that kind of help organize his mind a little bit in terms of looking back on his life and understanding why he is who he is,” Bakula says. “I think that’s going to be satisfying for the audience and, I think, for his character.”
I cried when LaSal was killed off, can not believe they killed him off, please bring him back he made the show worth watching, loved him…
Why did they kill LaSalle, I just loved him, especially when he would say Roll Tide. Was it his choice
It just killed the show not only in the south but for the rest of the country
Omgosh I dont understand how they can kill off a actor at their well! Christopher was the reason I watched it! He MADE this show! Not sure is I can continue to watch it! So sad CBS!
This is one of the saddest episodes. Christopher was New Orleans. He gave breath and spirit to the show. I too am hoping this is a Pride bad dream. Rewrite like JR Rollings did.
How can you kill Lasalle??????
He is tops in the series!!!!
You kept Pride alive, why not Lasalle????
You are WRONG!!!!!!
What in the heck is going on? I’m so P’d off that he’s gone, I watched the preview for next week hoping to get a glimpse that he will be coming back, but nothing. I will not watch after next week if he doesn’t return. I’m so disappointed 🙁
So long NCIS New Orleans….first “city” mouse left..now “counrty” mouse killed off.
Omgosh I dont understand how they can kill off a actor at their well! Christop5was the reason I watched it! He MADE this show! Not sure is I cznt continue to watch it! So sad CBS!
Why was he killed off? He was part of the roots to the whole show.
I loved watching Lucas Black on NCIS
New Orleans. The show won’t be the same without him. He was a good actor.
Why did he leave? It’s so disappointing to know he won’t be back!
I agree. I think that this is how it will be moving forward. LaSalle will be missed. Pride will be really on top of his people now. He lost a great agent who helped him throughout the years.
I kept waiting for the dream or scheme to end & Chris would be back, but it didn’t happen. So disappointing. I love Scott, CCH & Triple P but I’m so not happy about this turn of events. I may not watch next week, serious bummer! It’s not the same without Chris!
I agree 100%, him and pride worked together so good, I couldn’t believe it, these characters work so well together, what’s it going to be like now???? Sat here kept saying no, no, why would he leave the show?
Same here. I have to watch next weeks episode. If I don’t, then all LaSalle did would be in vain…..
Pretty stupid. Guess you don’t have to be much of a writer these days!
Sorry you just lost a viewer.
It’s a tv show. LaSalle should have been written out as leaving. Why kill him. Dumb a__ writers NCIS New Orleans is next to be taken off the air. Lost my watching the show
This isnt right…. I just recently started watching although I love all the characters Lasalle made the show….
I can’t believe they killed him off He made the show. He is why I watched the show
The show should end now, it’s not worth seeing anymore, LaSalle made the show with pride
I love LaSalle on NCIS NEw Orleans, he maded that show, he is such awesome actor! I pray you will bring him back into the show!! Pride and Lucas’s work so great with all the cast!! Please bring him back, can write him back into the show!! You better watch your ratings, as it will be disaster, because of the way you wrote off Lucas!! I am not sure if I will keep watching NCIS NEW Orelans!! It really breaks my heart you did that!! Shame on you!!
He was the most authentic character on the show. I’m done like him
Can’t watch without him in it
