Season 2 of the hit kitchen drama starring Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach returns this summer to find The Original Beef closed for business and its crew working on opening up a new restaurant: The Bear.

Though the details of the new season are being kept under wraps, the main characters are all set to return, which means there won’t be a shortage of interpersonal drama between this close-knit group as they juggle the bureaucracy of Chicago permits and contracts with the challenges of creating a new menu, all on a very tight schedule.

“Family is one of the core themes of the show, both Carmy’s (White) fractured family and also the found family of the kitchen, which is something I think we can all relate to,” says executive producer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo. “I love Carmy; I love the idea of exploring how people have these mechanisms to push away the desire to feel anything. I think it’s important to talk about the defense mechanisms that we all have to cope with.”

If it’s anything like Season 1, both of these families will provide plenty of drama and laughter for viewers. There may even be a love interest for Carmy, which is sure to be a disaster, if not a very entertaining one.

All 10 episodes of Season 2 of The Bear are available June 22 on Hulu.
