In 2003, Zoe walked away from her 21st birthday party with a full hiking backpack and disappeared. Many in her Queensland, Australia, community assumed she simply ran away. Others suspected foul play. When Zoe’s backpack is discovered in an abandoned building decades later, Detective James Cormack (Travis Fimmel) reopens the case.
We tracked down McKinnon for this edition of our “5 Questions”:
1. What’s the perfect day like for you?
I love a slow morning. Having a cup of coffee while looking out the window, having a big breakfast. I’d then go for a walk with a good friend and head to the cinema in the evening!
2. Can you tell us about a time you were starstruck?
My Australian agency represents many great actors, including Toni Collette. The agency was hosting their yearly Christmas party a few years back, and was I attending for the first time when Toni was also there — she is such a presence in the room, I was almost too shy to shake her hand!
3. What’s a movie you can watch over and over again?
Oh, I absolutely love Soul. It has so much depth and is full of meaning, and the soundtrack by Jon Batiste is amazing!
4. What’s your favorite sports team?
I’m not much of a sports fan, but I will watch for the Matildas!
5. What are some jobs you had before or outside of showbiz?
When I was a bit younger I worked at a lovely cafe attached to the Austrian museum of folk art in Vienna. I’ve also worked as a nanny quite some time — the family I worked for the longest had three children that I was regularly minding.
