Homer Simpson appears live tonight on The Simpsons

According to longtime Simpsons executive producer Al Jean, we almost saw a live appearance by Homer Simpson way back in 2007, as a promotion for The Simpsons Movie. But, “what we saw the time didn’t seem to have a smooth enough animation so we didn’t use it,” Jean told reporters on a conference call last week. “Now, it’s advanced to the point where we think we can do three minutes of the show.” Jean is referring to tonight’s episode of The Simpsons, called “Simprovised,” which will indeed have three minutes of live Homer antics. It’s the latest achievement for a series that still manages to […]

TLC Star Jazz Jennings Offers Reaction to Obama Administration’s Support of Transgender Youth

The past few months, and seemingly out of nowhere, states like North Carolina in particular have stirred up outrage over their laws regarding transgender bathroom use. This week, the Obama Administration weighed in on transgender bathroom usage in public schools, and colleges and universities that accept federal funds. The Departments of Justice and Education sent a joint letter to schools, directing them to provide access to suitable facilities, like bathrooms and locker rooms, that match their chosen gender identity. Jazz Jennings, the high-profile transgender youth advocate who appears in TLC’s reality series I Am Jazz, offered a personal response yesterday via […]

Supergirl Renewed, Will Be Flying Over to The CW for Season 2

Fans of CBS’ excellent new series Supergirl were a bit concerned in recent weeks as talks of renewing the show went on. And questions arose even beyond whether it would return: Would it change networks? Would its budget be substantially cut? At least some of those questions were answered yesterday when it was widely reported that Supergirl will indeed return. And yes, it will be changing networks, moving to the The CW. It is also moving its production from Los Angeles to Vancouver, likely to save costs. And that was one thing about Supergirl that made it so appealing, aside from its excellent cast (particularly the lead, […]

Melissa Joan Hart Gets an Emotional Reading in First Look at New Season of Hollywood Medium

At its debut in January of this year, the E! series Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry became the network’s most-watched unscripted series launch in three years, excluding spinoffs, in terms of total viewers. We would assume that E! is foreseeing, so to speak, similar success when the show returns for Season 2 on Aug. 16. In Season 2 of Hollywood Medium, the 20-year-old clairvoyant sees even more celebrities than he did in Season 1 — when he read for the likes of Amber Rose, Jaime Pressly, Boy George, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Margaret Cho. This time, without any prior knowledge of who he […]

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens Cameos Announced, Poster Art Released

Fittingly, Syfy chose May the Fourth — notable for its punny connection with Star Wars Day, as in “May the Fourth Be With You” — to announce cameos for its upcoming installment in the Sharknado franchise, the equally punnily titled Sharknado: The 4th Awakens. The fourth Sharknado entry will debut on Syfy July 31, and has already announced some of its major casting, including returning favorites and new costars. You can see many of them below in the poster art for the film that was released today (like the movie’s title itself, the poster seems pretty reminiscent of the one for Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Looks like […]

E!’s Live From the Red Carpet Makes Its Met Gala Debut Tonight

It’s one of the high-profile social events of the year, has been known as “the Oscars of the East Coast, and features tons of beautiful celebrities dressed to the nines. So it’s kind of surprising that the E! network’s Live From the Red Carpet franchise has not yet covered the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Met Gala. That situation will be remedied tonight, May 2, when E! cameras will be on hand live on the Met Gala’s red carpet beginning at 7:30pm ET/PT. Things actually get somewhat underway at 7pm ET/PT with E! News talking about anticipated fashion trends for […]

HBO’s 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Special Will Include Footage From Prince’s 2004 Induction

The 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place in Brooklyn on April 8, when Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, N.W.A. and Steve Miller were welcomed into the esteemed hall.
