As networks decide which series to keep, and which to cast off, this campaign gives fans the chance to once again vote for the show they would like to see survive the axe. Voting is now open, and finalists will be announced April 22. Voting will continue until April 29, with the winning show announced on E! Online May 1.

That’s how Disney Channel president Gary Marsh is describing its latest venture with the Jonas Brothers – a scripted comedy series titled JONAS, premiering Saturdays, beginning May 2. “What we’ve tried to do with JONAS is create a fusion of a sitcom and a music video and use original Jonas Brothers songs as the foundation to glue it together,” Marsh says.

By RabbitEars It’s been talked about for a while, but at the Discovery advertising upfront presentation today more details came to light about the new Oprah Winfrey Network — OWN (a pretty symbolic acronym relating to this one-woman entertainment empire with self-promotional holdings in most media) — set to launch in early 2010 and replacing what is currently Discovery Health Channel. Man, I’m going to miss shows with titles like I Made Myself Pregnant or something of that nature.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie will be commemorated on official First-Class stamps from the U.S. Postal Service personally designed by Simpsons creator Matt Groening. It also knows that summer is fast on its way (hopefully sooner rather than later here in Wisconsin), and that’s the time when cable brings out a lot of its programming heavy-hitters, both in the form of returning series and premieres.
