Music For “Losers”

By RabbitEars The next album in the series of Workout Mixes inspired by The Biggest Loser looks to put all memories of Jock Jams out of your mind (if it wasn’t already) by using sports anthems as its theme. The Biggest Loser Sports Anthems Workout Mix features high-energy favorites like “Let’s Get It Started,” “Don’t Stop Believin,” “We Will Rock You,” “I Like to Move It” and “Everybody Dance Now.” Like the other Workout Mixes, Sports Anthems is 60 minutes long, and its amplified beats-per-minute help users keep up a powerful exercise pace, becoming sort of a personal trainer to […]

“The Colbert Report” Off To A Place With “Sand … And People Who Wish We Would Leave”

By RabbitEars “I’m taking my show to the Persian Gulf,” said Stephen Colbert today. “If there was any hope of peace in the Middle East, you can forget it now.” Colbert and Comedy Central announced that the comedian’s Emmy- and Peabody-winning show The Colbert Report will temporarily wrap filming in New York City and head to the front lines as part of a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour to an unnamed country … at an unnamed time. Some point in the “near or distant future. … or past,” according to Colbert, who is upholding government secrecy requirements. Four episodes will be […]

Jeff Burton Makes Pit Stop At “General Hospital”

NASCAR driver Jeff Burton, 21-time winner on the Sprint Cup Series competition, appears on next Wednesday’s (March 18) episode of ABC’s venerable soap opera General Hospital. In his storyline, Burton visits neighborhood tavern Jake’s, where he’s having a conversation about racing with bartender Coleman (Blake Gibbons) when Dr. Drake (Jason Thompson) arrives. Despite being a racecar enthusiast, somehow Drake does not recognize the driver of No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet. Then, according to the ABC release, “a comedic beat ensues.” Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, ABC will also be televising the final 11 races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which Burton will be […]

TSST! “Dog Whisperer” Becomes U.S. Citizen

By Jeff Pfeiffer I wasn’t aware that “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan, pack leader on the hit National Geographic Channel series, was not an official U.S. citizen. That has now been changed. Don’t worry — he hasn’t been here illegally to do his dog training, but has been a legal resident for years. He passed his citizenship test earlier this year, then attended the official swearing-in ceremony yesterday in Los Angeles, joining dozens of others as new Americans. He was accompanied by his wife and two sons, who are already U.S. citizens. On his website, Millan, who was born in Mexico, […]

Large Family Affairs

By Jeff Pfeiffer You know it’s only a matter of time before “Octo-Mom” Nadya Suleman gets a reality TV series. The intense public fascination about her case has come as no surprise, really, since television has become filled with the pitter-patter (or, in some cases, stampeding) of little feet. Several popular programs have already been chronicling the adventures of similar people who have suddenly found themselves saddled — er, blessed — with multiple kids all at once. And like the parents, these types of shows are reproducing quickly. In fact, a new one called Table For 12 starts March 23.

Don’t Forget To Put On A Sweater!

Even if you didn’t grow up watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood (1968-2001), you likely are familiar with the infectious — and almost inhuman — friendliness, kindness and patience displayed by Fred Rogers on that series and in his real life. The gentle Rogers, who passed away in 2003, remains a shining example of being a caring neighbor to one’s fellow person. Last year, Family Communications, Inc., a nonprofit company founded by Rogers, began recognizing Rogers’ legacy of promoting neighborliness with its first Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Day. This event is now becoming an annual tradition, and the second Won’t You […]

Preview: “Ghost Hunters” Scares Up A New Season

By RabbitEars America’s favorite ghost-hunting plumbers are back to flush out more phantoms in Season 5 of SCI FI Channel’s hit series Ghost Hunters, beginning this Wednesday (March 11) at 9pm ET/PT. Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who head up The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) team, explain that this season will see a return to a lot of residential cases in addition to continued explorations of the higher-profile historical sites. This plan is evidenced right away in the premiere episode, a two-investigation show in which the team travels to Pennsylvania to visit a terrified family just outside of Philadelphia, and […]

Jewel And Nancy O’Dell Not “Dancing”

By RabbitEars Celebrities Jewel and Nancy O’Dell have been forced to drop out of the new season of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, which begins this Monday, due to injuries sustained while training for the competition. Jewel was diagnosed with a fractured tibia in both legs, while O’Dell suffered a torn meniscus in her knee. Both stars will appear on the season premiere episode to address their injuries. “When the doctors told me my injuries were so severe that I couldn’t walk, let alone compete, I was devastated that I couldn’t continue the show,” says Jewel. “I have every intention […]
