World Cup qualifier: Mexico vs Costa Rica on Telemundo

Mexico kept its World Cup hopes alive last Friday with a thrilling win over Panama, courtesy of Raul Jimenez’s spectacular bicycle kick goal, and now goes to Costa Rica’s National Stadium in San Jose, where a draw with Costa Rica (which has already obtained one of the direct berths in the 2014 World Cup) would guarantee Mexico fourth place in the Hexagonal and a berth in the World Cup playoff against New Zealand next month. A win, along with some help from Jamaica in defeating Honduras, might even help get Mexico to Brazil 2014 directly. The Mexico vs Costa Rica […]

You probably know you’re watching The CW when you see a historical drama based on Mary Stuart (Mary, Queen of Scots) and the screen is filled with impossibly beautiful young people wearing clothes not quite of the era, including stiletto heels. And to drive home the fact that a bit of creative license was taken with The CW’s new series Reign, star Adelaide Kane (Teen Wolf), who plays Mary, confirmed for me in an interview this summer at the Television Critics Association Press Tour that, “This isn’t the History Channel. … It’s a TV show. It’s supposed to be fun! […]

Homeland Season 3 recap: Episode 2 – “Uh … Oo … Aw …”

There was still no sign of Brody (Damian Lewis) in last night’s second episode of Showtime’s Homeland Season 3, but there was no shortage of drama, some of it from Brody’s family who, along with so many others, are still dealing with the events of the explosion at Langley. In fact, last night’s episode — while featuring good doses of Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Peter (Rupert Friend) — proved to be carried in large part by the female characters of the show. Not only by Dana (Morgan Saylor) and Jessica (Morena Baccarin) Brody, but also by, or course, Carrie Mathsion (Caire Danes) […]
