Who Won Dancing With The Stars? Recap: Dancing With the Stars, “The Finals, Part 2”

Tonight’s the night! One of the three remaining couples will be crowned the Season 21 Champions of Dancing With The Stars. But first, we’ve got a whole lot of dancing, reminiscing and time-killing to do. First, why so late, ABC? This has been a constant thorn in my side, but 9-11pm ET/PT on a school night? Don’t you have children? On to the dancing! It was great to reintroduce ourselves to each of the 13 contestants from this season. Each season, DWTS ups the ante, and this season’s sensational live opening-number (to Karina Es’ “Dancing in the Stars”) at The […]

Cameron Mathison Talks Sunday’s “Murder She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery”

Sunday night, the newest Hannah Swensen mystery pops on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The holiday-themed Murder She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery, is rife with intrigue, danger, and tasty holiday goodies. And of course — murder, we can’t forget a murder. I mean really, what is the holiday season without a few dead bodies? I’m obviously kidding here, but still, insert your own ominous music, ‘cause of the whole murder, thing. Sharing the Love I chatted with Alison Sweeney before the premiere of the first Murder She Baked movie, so this time I thought I’d give her charming co-star, Cameron Mathison […]

Now Streaming On Amazon: “The Man In the High Castle”

In an alternate history, the Allied Forces lost World War II and the United States has been divided into Nazi and Imperial Japanese territories, with an area dividing the two — the Rocky Mountain range — as a lawless no-man’s land of a neutral zone. In 1962, a young woman comes into possession of a mysterious film that also depicts an alternate history, one where the Allies are victorious, Japan surrenders and the Nazi regime is obliterated. Intrigued and hopeful, the woman, our story’s heroine, is pulled into the shadowy world of an underground resistance where she searches for “The […]

Recap: Men, Women, Wild “For Worse” Episode 2

Last week, three brave couples headed into remote locations with limited survival gear for a three-week test of their survival skills and their relationship’s strength. One couple, Matt & Ali called it quits after only three days into their survival adventure in the harsh Mexican jungle. The bugs and the stress were too much for Ali. In Norway, Justin & Jenny are a week into their survival experience and they still haven’t eaten a single bite. In the highland desert of Morocco, Mitchell & Jhoanna have eaten a few small fish, but nothing else. Their biggest obstacle has been the unpredictable weather […]

Lifetime’s “Turkey Hollow” is a Howl

Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow, Lifetime’s charming Thanksgiving film, almost didn’t get made. Jim Henson originally wrote the film’s treatment with longtime writing partner Jerry Juhl over four decades ago, but the project was shelved, and subsequently forgotten, when another of their projects became a huge success. “The original treatment is dated from 1968,” says Henson’s daughter Lisa, CEO of The Jim Henson Company. “By 1969, it was all hands on deck with Sesame Street.” So that treatment lingered in purgatory until it was recently rediscovered. “We came across this treatment,” Lisa recalls, “and I was so charmed by it. I […]

Recap: Dancing With the Stars, “The Semifinals” Season 21, Episode 10

Last week was an emotional mess. First Tamar is sick, then she has a miraculous recovery. Then Alexa has two perfect performances, and then is eliminated from the competition. Then Tamar drops out, explaining that her illness was MUCH worse than originally thought. So Tamar’s gone, Alexa is gone. And I’m just feeling a little sad and underwhelmed. Tonight, or the first time in DWTS history, the couples have to dance three dances in the semis: a dance style not yet danced, a trio, and a dance-off challenge, which is a recent edition. For the trio dance, couples picked a […]

The Bitch is Back! Recap: The Royals Season 2 Premiere

Welcome back to The Royals! I’ve missed our favorite Brits and I’ve especially missed loathing Cyrus. I wonder if actor Jake Maskall, who plays Cy spent his summer dodging spittle from fans of King Simon. This is one of the best TV villains we’ve had in a long time, and I have high hopes that becoming king will only make the depths that Cyrus is willing to sink even greater. I was surprised that The Royals didn’t receive any Emmy nominations, not for supporting actor (Maskall), not for leading actress (Hurley) and triple shocked that the series didn’t receive a […]
