It’s another week and we know that we’re going to see another fight on Little Women: LA.  Is anyone else starting to feel fight fatigue?   Briana and Matt and Christy and Todd go on a double date; thank goodness Matt hasn’t been scared off by the group’s insanity. It looks like they’re at the Santa Monica pier, but Christy and Briana are too small to ride most of the rides. Elena and her husband have moved into their new house, which is adorable. It’s just in time too, because Elena’s mom is coming for her annual visit the day after they […]

Parks And Recreation Series Finale

I’ve been dreading tonight for months. I have had a sad feeling in my stomach thinking about the finale of Parks and Recreation. I wrote about the series finale for the March issue of Channel Guide Magazine, and posted something on the website last week, but even now, having just finished watching the one-hour finale, I have an uneasy feeling in my stomach that lies somewhere between heartburn and malaise. Time will tell what history thinks of the final episode of Parks and Recreation. But I guess I don’t care what others think. I had a deep personal love for the show […]

First Look: House Of Cards Season 3 Trailer

Some of the biggest buzz surrounding last night’s Oscar’s broadcast had little to do with Neal Patrick Harris in tighty-whities, John Travolta heavy-petting Idina Menzel’s face or John Legend and Common’s moving musical performance to their Oscar-winning song, “Glory.” Today, many people are talking about the President of the United States. Okay, okay, the fictional President of the United States, but still…people can’t stop talking about Francis Underwood, the devilish fake president played by Kevin Spacey on Netflix’s House of Cards and the series’ dramatic Season 3 trailer. Last week, the third season of the critically acclaimed drama was “accidentally” […]

87th Academy Awards Winners List and Recap

Tonight is Hollywood’s most anticipated night. When the dreams of a handful come true and for the rest, “It was an honor just to be nominated.” Here’s a rundown of the night’s most buzzworthy events and a list of winners that I’ll update as the night goes on. Neal Patrick Harris opened the show with a musical number “Moving Pictures” that was an homage to films that inspire us, and featuring Neal inserted into famous films like Risky Business and Star Wars. Anna Kendrick and Jack Black also lent a hand (and their voices). NOTE: The order of the below list […]

Who’s On TV Talk Shows Feb. 23-28?

I’m sure that after Sunday’s Academy Awards, most of the live talk shows will be discussing and deconstructing every outfit, speech and winner. LIVE! With Kelly and Michael is devoting their entire Monday show to post-Oscar chatting, and the episode is broadcasting from the Nokia Theater, the site of the Oscars ceremony mere hours prior! Also, Home & Family has a mini-reunion of stars from one of my favorite TV shows, Life Goes On! Stars Kellie Martin, Patti LuPone and Chris Burke stopping by H&F to reminisce about the past and discuss their current projects (and Henry Winkler will be there too — […]

Detroit has faced its share of struggles as economic downturn has challenged the city, but from the very first episode, it’s obvious that while the city’s bureaucracy may be bankrupt, the city’s faith is rich and vibrant. “Detroit is alive and well! Amy Poehler Talks “Parks and Recreation” Series Finale on Feb. 24

Whenever I think about Parks and Recreation ending its 7 season run on Feb. 24, I get misty eyed, and the opening bars of Semisonic’s “Closing Time” starts buzzing through my mind. The mocumentary comedy never enjoyed huge ratings, but it was well received by critics and enjoyed a fiercely loyal audience. And I will miss it immensely. Amy Poehler portrayed ever-chipper deputy director of the Pawnee Parks Department, Leslie Knope. She left Saturday Night Live — where she was a cast member from 2001-2008 — to lead the ensemble comedy as it’s central character. When asked if she had a favorite […]
