2015 NHL Winter Classic on NBC New Year’s Day features the Chicago Blackhawks at the Washington Capitals outdoors in Nationals Park. NHL hockey returns to the great outdoors for the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic New Year’s Day tradition. This year has Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks visiting Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals in Nationals Park. NBC airs the game live Jan. 1 beginning at 1pm ET. Play-by-play commentator Mike “Doc” Emrick, analyst Eddie Olczyk and inside-the-glass analyst Pierre McGuire call the game from Washington, D.C.

The first CBS Sports Classic college basketball event takes place Saturday, Dec. 20, at the United Center in Chicago. The event features some of college hoops’ most competitive and storied teams. Things tip off at 1pm ET on CBS as the No. 24 North Carolina Tar Heels take on the No. 12 Ohio State Buckeyes. Following that game, at 3pm ET on CBS, the UCLA Bruins face the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats.
