Justin Bieber, Cee Lo Green and Jennifer Hudson headline TNT’s “Christmas in Washington”

Many people would spend a lot money to see Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson or Cee Lo Green alone in concert. But because this is the giving season, TNT will feature all three singers in what should be one of best Christmas in Washington concerts ever. Hosted by TBS/TNT posterchild Conan O’Brien, the annual special airing tonight (8pmET) will also showcase the talents of Victoria Justice and The Band Perry. What makes this show unique in a TV landscape with entirely too many holiday shows is that it takes place in the nation’s capital at the National Building Museum. This is […]

As Barbara Walters names her 10 most fascinating people, we name some of our least

By Tom Comi Follow @ChannelGuide While I am looking forward to tonight’s ABC special Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year (9:30pm ET), it dawned on me that nobody ever puts out a list of the least fascinating personalities or characters on TV. Sure, Walters always includes some controversial folks on her annual list, which this year includes the Kardashian family, Donald Trump, Simon Cowell, Modern Family stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, baseball star Derek Jeter, singer Katy Perry and Pippa Middleton (Britain’s most famous bachelorette). It’s a nice list, but it’s a little […]

“Storage Wars Texas” delivers record number of viewers on A&E

America’s mind-boggling fascination with the self storage industry continued this week as an astounding 4.1 million people tuned into A&E Tuesday night for the premiere of Storage Wars Texas — making it the most watched series launch in the network’s history. Even more impressive is that more than half of that audience fell into the 25-54 age group, which is also an A&E record and the coveted demographic that programmers seek to lure advertisers. This series, which is a spin-off from the popular Storage Wars, focuses on four Dallas hunters who try to use their knowledge to bid on items […]

“Storage Wars Texas” makes big premiere tonight on A&E

The old cliche claims everything is done big in Texas, and fans of the popular reality series Storage Wars are going to find out tonight as A&E rolls out the premiere of its Lone Star State spin-off. Storage Wars Texas (10:30pm ET) will be very similar to its predecessor, with the obvious distinction being that this version will solely focus on auctions in Texas. There are more than 50,000 facilities in the United States, but a big part of the reason this show should be successful is due to the amount that are spread out across this state. For those […]

NBC’s “The Sing-Off” spreads holiday cheer

By Tom Comi Follow @ChannelGuide One of greatest things about this time of year is when the sound of carolers fills the air, and fans of a cappella music will get a large dose of that tonight as NBC offers up a two-hour holiday special of The Sing-Off, called “A Sing-Off Christmas.” The competition crowned Pentatonix as its Season 3 winner last week, but that fortunately was not the end of the show’s run. Airing tonight at 8pm ET, this concert will feature groups from the first three seasons performing holiday and inspirational classics.

NCAA football heats up with championship games in MAC, Pac12, C-USA, SEC, ACC and Big Ten

By Tom Comi Follow @ChannelGuide The Bowl games obviously draw the most attention in college football, but sometimes it’s the conference championships that end up providing the most excitement. Not only are the rivalries much more intense, but the outcomes of these games can have a major impact on which teams play in the coveted Bowls. With that in mind, here is our preview for the conference championship games tonight and tomorrow for the MAC, Pac12, C-USA, SEC, ACC and Big Ten. MAC (tonight, 7pmET, ESPN2), Northern Illinois vs. Ohio: Both teams come into this contest unranked and with three […]

Duke, Ohio State lock horns in Big Ten/ACC Challenge battle of unbeatens on ESPN

This is the time of year when college basketball takes a backseat to NCAA and professional football, but there really is no better matchup in any sport this week than tonight’s showdown between Duke and Ohio State. Taking place as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the #3-ranked Blue Devils travel to Columbus with their perfect 7-0 record to take on the #2-ranked Buckeyes (6-0) at 9:30pm ET on ESPN. This is the kind of game that is usually played in April with a national championship on the line. And even though we are many months away from the NCAA […]

There are many perks to being the President of the United States, but perhaps none is cooler than being able to sit front row at concerts without having to leave your home. The Obamas will be front and center tonight when country music’s brightest stars gather at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for a special premiering Nov. 23 on PBS at 8pm ET. Airing as part of the In Performance at the White House series, the timing of this family event couldn’t be more perfect as it falls on Thanksgiving eve.
