This morning, actor Chris Pine, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and directors Alfonso Cuarón and J.J. Abrams announced the 2015 Oscar nominations. For the first time, all 24 categories were announced live, in a two-part news conference in Beverly Hills. Cuarón and Abrams announced the nominees in the following categories: Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Film Editing, Original Song, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. The 2015 Golden Globe nominations for the 72nd installment of the ceremony were announced this morning by Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Jeremy Piven. Greer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer, was on hand as Miss Golden Globe 2015, following a tradition where a daughter or son of one of Hollywood’s most respected actors is selected to assist at the Golden Globes. Today, the nominees for the 46th NAACP Image Awards were announced in Beverly Hills, Calif. Tracee Ellis Ross of ABC’s new hit black-ish, herself a nominee (black-ish has six nominations overall), made the announcement, along with Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), nominee Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away With Murder), nominee Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away With Murder) and nominee Tessa Thompson (Dear White People). The Hollywood Film Awards, which honors excellence in filmmaking, makes its television debut with this ceremony from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Friday, Nov. 14, on CBS. Winners are chosen by a committee of film industry insiders and executives.
